The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is going to become even more unlimited with the announcement of One Tamriel. This isn’t DLC, it’s a massive change to the base game code that will automatically level everyone in the world so a newbie can go on a quest with an experienced player. This will also remove all of the level locks across the game so you can access every area and dungeon from the very start.
We also have a trailer for The Dark Brotherhood DLC, which you can watch below.

That kinda defeats the purpose of levelling up so you can explore new areas. Strange decision.

I think it’s worse than that.
Just levelling up isn’t (or shouldn’t) be all that is required for the later, higher level stuff in any game. Things should be more challenging and require new skills and tactics you discover and learn while playing the lower-level content.
Rushing in to the hardest parts of the game with the equipment you had at the start of the game and without having any clue what you’re doing shouldn’t be an option. And who’d want to bring along a low-level friend when you’ll just end up doing all the work and they’ll be getting in the way?
Starman
Agreed, this will cause more problems than it solves. For instance getting levelled down when helping a newer player will take some of the fun out of destroying those early enemies like a mudcrab that took 70 swings from your axe to kill previously.

578 million mudcrabs killed. ^_^
good, one those buggers killed me the first time i fought one.
wasn’t there talk of cross alliance content as well, so in theory a Pact player could go to a Dominion area and quest.
that, to me, seems the more exciting part of the announcement, because eventually, you’d get to all those higher level areas, but to be able to take your favourite character to the other faction areas.
that would never have been possible before.
Starman
You’re already able to do that once you finish the main quest, you choose to go to another alliance area.
hazelam
i did not know that.
not having finished the main quest, that’s not surprising.
but i guess now you can do it from the start.
and from a quick google, it seems like you could go to the areas, but not interact with that faction’s players, sounds like now you’ll be able to quest with them.
