Star Citizen’s Single Player Campaign Delayed

A livestream event during Citizencon has revealed that Squadron 42, the single player campaign section to the crowd funded Star Citizen game, will not be launching this year. CEO of Cloud Imperium Games, Chris Roberts, explained that “S42 has grown in ambition and scope since first pitched in 2012.”

Originally set to launch in 2014 the game has been beset with delays and rumours, despite having one the most successful crowd funding events ever, raising over $50 million. The game has a huge cast including Gillian Andersen, Gary Oldman, Mark Hamill, and Andy Serkis.

  1. Star Citzen is the only game that can make or break the remains of the space exploration genre. NMS cocked it up and SC is the biggest game that could give it much needed life. Questionable choices for a studio’s first game though. Those names aren’t cheap and this could be used against them if the game is a bit meh.

But I hope this turns out to be an excellent game and we get more space games.

*Glares at NMS* You know what you did. Rot in the corner!
