Save On Japanese Games In The Latest EU PS Store Sale

Big in Japan

Another Wednesday and another bevy of discounted games on the PlayStation Store, with Sony reviving a regular theme for their sales: Japanese games. The ‘Big in Japan’ sale is pretty self explanatory, running from now until 19th July. You can get your Final Fantasy games, Resident Evil, Dark Souls, Street Fighter and plenty more, with the promotion spanning PS4, PS Vita and PS3 games.

Oh, and then there’s Skyrim Special Edition as the Deal of the Week for £24.99, and a big Totally Digital sale that focuses on digital only games, and will include everything from Rocket League to What Remains of Edith Finch and Wonder Boy. In classic PlayStation Blog style, some of the links aren’t working, because they’re trying to point to pre-orders that aren’t actually on the store yet.

It’s a ludicrously big list, so we’re going to hide it behind expandable sections. Head here for the Big in Japan page on the store itself to see the actual discounts (as usual, Sony aren’t even telling us the percentage reductions), or click this thingies below to simply see the games on offer.

I'm probably wearing toe shoes, and there's nothing you can do to stop me!

  1. Might have to grab Galaga.

    • Done! – ARCADE GAME SERIES 3-in-1 Pack – Galaga, Pac Man & Dig Dug, a trip down memory lane to the early 80s… “Here you go son. Get yourself a coke, packet of crisps & a few games on Pac Man and leave me in silence while I have a couple of beers.” Those were the days :)

      • And how can we forget the Big D calendars… “Ask for a packet of BIG D Peanuts too son. Ask the barmaid for the packet in the middle, just to the left. You better grab your brother a pack too.”

  2. Internet isn’t good enough to follow the links at work, but tempting to see The Sexy Brutale on sale, I’ve had my eye on that since release! A good few others I would snap up if the price is right as well, great sale.

  3. There’s 254 discounts. And that’s just for the PS4 and not including DLC.

As always, is your friend. They even helpfully tell you if something’s cheaper on Amazon now.

Toukiden: Kiwami is a bargain for £11.99. A lot of game there, even if it does get repetitive to the point where you don’t want to play it ever again. For a couple of weeks.

Yakuza 0 for £20.24? That might just tempt me.

And Amplitude for £3.99 might do it too. Actually, that’s got a demo, so it definitely has a chance to convince me.

    • Ok, maybe not Amplitude. It’s a decent enough game, from what I can tell from the demo. But that music is possibly the worst thing I’ve heard in a long time. Ok, that’s based on the 3 songs in the demo, but I can’t see the rest being enough of an improvement to make up for those.

  4. Oh i’m on to you now Sony. First you enable external hdd support, then hammer us with sale after sale..

    • I put a 2TB drive in before external HDD support. Then attached another 2TB drive.

And it’s not going to be enough at some point in the next year.

  5. When did Super Hot turn up? And I’m VR as well? Bought!

    • Well its not out yet, it’s a pre-order. It’s not on sale at all, in fact there are a couple of games (Tiny Trax for example) that are not out but are still “on sale”.
