Forza Horizon 4 Has Been Announced At E3 And It’s Coming This Year

Playground Games have taken to the stage at Microsoft’s E3 press conference to show off the world premiere of Forza Horizon 4. After the previous game’s outings in Australia, Europe and the US, the fourth entry is heading home to Great Britain, with the trailer taking in a few recognisable locations including Edinburgh.

In a surprise move, Forza Horizon 4 will be a shared open world, where all the other drivers you encounter are real players, presumably meaning the removal of the Drivatars the series has been known for. Perhaps thanks to the wonderful weather here, it’ll also feature fully dynamic seasons, with the time of year altering the appearance of the world as well as the handling conditions. The game is already looking phenomenal, and Xbox One X players can look forward to the inclusion of a 60fps mode which should give serious race fans something to think about.

Within the shared world there’ll also be player-wide events going under the title Forzathon Live, and it looks as though there’ll be an even wider array of vehicles including motorbikes and hovercraft. This might give The Crew 2 a few kittens.

Forza Horizon 4 will arrive on Xbox and PC on October 2nd, and will be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers for free.
