Back in April Showtime confirmed that Pablo Schreiber, known for shows like Orange is the New Black and American Gods, would be donning the famous Spartan helmet and taking on the role of Master Chief in the Halo TV series. Now, Showtime has confirmed the rest of the main cast for the Halo show. We all know one of the major characters in Halo is Cortana, and the person cast to take on the role is Natascha McElhone, known from Designated Survivor, The Truman Show, and Californication.
However, she won’t just be voicing Cortana. Natascha McElhone has also been cast as the creator of the Spartan program Dr Catherine Halsey. Bokeem Woodbine, who was fantastic in the second season of Fargo the TV series, will be taking on the role of Soren-066, a privateer who will clash with Chief though they were friends previously. Shabana Azmi, who was recently in The Good Karma Hospital, will take on the role of Admiral Margaret Parangosky. The TV show will also add new characters that have not been a part of the Halo universe before.
These characters are Vannak-134, played by Bentley Kalu who has appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron and voiced lines in The Division as well as Star Wars Battlefront II. Vannak-134 will essentially be Chief’s second in command. Two other Spartans will be joining Chief and these are Spartan Riz-028, who is played by Natasha Culzac. She is also going be in The Witcher series as Toruviel. The final Spartan is Spartan Kai-125, with that role going to Kate Kennedy who has a lot of video game roles in her list including Mass Effect: Andromeda, Anthem, Battlefield V, and Divinity: Original Sin II.
The Halo series has been kicked about since 2013 as people joined and left the project. However, it’s finally happening but don’t expect the show to air for at least another two years.
