Thatgamecompany’s classic Journey is now available to download on iOS devices after it arrived today on the App Store, published by Annapurna Interactive. Journey was expected to release on the platform at some point but the sudden arrival was a surprise. Journey is priced at £4.99 and weighs in at 1.1GB. It’s available for Apple devices that are running iOS 12.2 or later. It’s exactly the same experience as the console and PC versions including the online aspect where players will cross paths though GameCenter is required to play online. The game can only be downloaded through the App store on devices according to Journey’s product page.
This isn’t the only thatgamecompany release to recently arrive on iOS. A few weeks ago Sky was exclusively released for iOS, bringing similar vibes as Journey where players can explore different worlds together.
Way back in 2012 when Journey first released for PS3 Alex wrote; “. Never before has a game illustrated such tragic fragility with such humanity and character – Journey might live up to its name on many levels, but on the deepest, most personal level possible thatgamecompany manage to transcend all expectations.” You can read that Journey review here.

Possibly be my favourite indie title of all time…a shame to hear you didn’t appreciate this masterpiece.
