New PS5 fight stick and controller announced by HORI

Gaming peripheral specialist HORI has announced a new fight stick and controller for PS5.

While it’s true that many third party PS4 controllers and peripherals already work on PS5, it was only a matter of time before manufacturers turned their attentions to Sony’s newest system.

Both officially licensed products are designed with 2D fighting games in mind with revised features fit for competitive gamers. First we have the HORI Commander OCTA wired gamepad sporting its unconventional layout with six buttons. Naturally, it’s a favourite for retro style arcade games, given a modern twist thanks to its companion app and customisation options.

Meanwhile, HORI has brought its trademark fight stick into the next generation with an improved design, ready or tournament play. The alpha rocks HORI’s innovative HAYABUS lever and matte finish buttons, with four adjustable profiles.

HORI Command OCTA PS5 Controller

  • Top-quality components for accuracy and durability, including Micro Switch buttons
  • Short Throw Analog Stick with 8-way gate for increased accuracy and execution speed
  • Adjustable D-Pad sensitivity and easy-to-use six button layout
  • Headset input and onboard audio controls
  • Customize setting with the companion app

Price: $59.99

Fighting Stick Alpha for PS5

  • Opens for easy customization and maintenance
  • Replaceable top-panel artwork
  • Features HAYABUSA buttons and stick lever
  • 3.5mm audio jack
  • Create custom profiles through the companion app

Price: $199.99

There is no release date on either of these just yet though we’ve been assured they are “coming soon”. Even if you don’t have a PS5 yet, the new stick and controller can still be used on PC and PS4. It’s also worth noting that these new models have already launched on Xbox Series X|S.
