Spider-Man Remastered PC Header

We’re in the midst of yet another heatwave, and although we’re thankfully not seeing the record-setting temperatures we experienced last time, it’s still been a rather hot and unpleasant week. Naturally, that means things are a little quieter than usual, but with Gamescom just around the corner there are signs that the industry is picking up, so let’s dive into this week’s round up!

Games in Review

We had a busy week for the reviews, with Lost in Play and Spider-Man’s PC release really standing out!

Turning our attention to the previews, Dom was impressed by Exoprimal, a blend “of Anthem-style mech suits, some Left for Dead swarm shenanigans, and of course there’s a hint of Dino Crisis” from Capcom.

Jim meanwhile looked at DioField Chronicle, yet another JRPG from Square Enix, however this may deserve your attention thanks to its Total War-esque real time mechanics. He also celebrated Fighting Fantasy’s 40th anniversary by speaking to creators Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson ahead of their two new gamebooks coming out in September.

Rounding off the week, What We Played featured Exoprimal, Digimon Survive & Cult of the Lamb.
