What We Played #563 – Exoprimal, Digimon Survive & Cult of the Lamb

Cult of the Lamb Header

Is it Friday already? The summer holidays have suddenly decided to start whipping by in some kind of heat-induced frenzy, stripping away all sense of actual time from my life. Maybe I need to stay in the shade playing more video games to slow it down? I’ve certainly been trying to, indulging in some multiplayer battling in Gigabash, returning to Marvel’s Spider-Man on PC, and shooting dinosaurs in the incredibly silly Exoprimal. I’ve also spent far more time than is healthy getting Stadia and Xbox Cloud Gaming to work on my Steam Deck. After some messing about that had me attaching a keyboard and mouse to it and drawing some strange looks from my wife, I have successfully made it play even more games. Well done me!

Steve is on holiday so he’s just played Xenoblade Chronicles on my Switch, but that’s fine because it’s one of the best games ever. Tuffcub has played flipping Destiny 2 – quelle surprise! – but he also got the patch for Far Cry 6 this week, saying that he “might even play it this week”. Could you imagine that?

Miguel has been playing Digimon Survive, Dusk Diver 2, Vampire Survivors, Apex Legends, and a random bout of Valkyria Chronicles 4!

Digimon Survive

Meanwhile, Ade played Sword and Fairy: Together Forever review, saying, “it was OK if you absolutely have to play an RPG and are not too fussy”. He continued, “Also, my partner and I are still on with Stray, as I type this her cat has just been killed by a nasty drone thing. Finally, I’ve started Yakuza Like a Dragon. I didn’t think it would be my thing but it’s absolutely my thing – it’s awesome!”

Nic B has played a whole load of Cult of the Lamb, with a heap of Pokemon Go and a dash of Exoprimorial with me, Tef and Nick. It was great. Nick P has been channeling my inner cat in Stray, skateboarding badly on Tony Hawks 1 + 2, killing folk in Dead by Daylight, and destroying dinos in Exoprimal.

Cult of the Lamb Combat

Aran has played some more Horizon Forbidden West and another game he cannot say much about. Intriguing!

Jim jumped back in the Animus for a double helping of Assassin’s Creed, wrapping up Rogue while also dabbling in some Black Flag multiplayer. He told us, “The latter has been great fun and there’s a surprising number of active players, though I miss the more streamlined version of the mode when it debuted in Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood.”

That’s not all he’s done though, “I’ve also been dabbling with some Dreams – every few weeks or so I like to dive in, cycling between new creations to see what the community is working on. However, this time, I decided to try my hand at making something, learning the sound and music tools.”

Gareth is still playing Way of the Hunter for review (which will be along later today). He’s also played some Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 since he noticed it on PS+.

Exoprimal Tank Class

And finally, Tef was the fourth and final member of our Exoprimal dino blasting party last weekend. He joined that with more of his daily Really Bad Chess of mobile, a little more of Two Point Campus, which has now released for everyone to play.

What have you lot played?

  1. I kind of restarted Assassin’s Creed Unity and got the trophies that require playing with someone in co op.
I started Lego Movie on Vita, I’m about halfway through that.
I also got the multiplayer trophies in Assassin’s Creed Revelations done, so just the ones in AC Brotherhood before the servers close. Brotherhood really hasn’t been kind to me though, I’ve not been able to find a match online! So I’m hosting a boosting session for the first time tomorrow! What could possibly go wrong?!
