We’ve made it into August, and that means we’re inching closer and closer to Gamescom in a few weeks. Our schedule is basically all booked up with games to see, but what surprises will there be from Opening Night Live? That’s getting a little ahead of ourselves, though.

In the News This Week

The disc killing saga continues to spin round and round this week, as we catch up with the news.

Games in Review & Featured Articles

We had a healthy batch of the weird and wonderful in the reviews this week, whether it’s going swinging with your friends or pulling skateboarding tricks in a train.

Away from the reviews, Reuben reported in about Evercold, Bastion, and the future of Final Fantasy XIV from Fan Fest Berlin.

Jim also checked back in on Marathon for the launch of its PvE Vault Breaker mode, and while it didn’t quite strike a chord for him, it shows promise for and evolved mode coming in Season 3.

And we wrap up for the week with What We Played featuring MineGeon, Black Ops and Heave Ho 2.
