PSN Store Update: 12/12/12

[videoyoutube]Another nice week for PS3 and Vita owners (or, at least, those that have both) because the wonderful indie shooter Big Sky Infinity is out on both. There’s a demo available for anyone not sure, or the full game is just £7.99.

Also available on PlayStation 3 is Mensa Academy (which also comes with a demo).

There’s a demo for Fuel Overdose, too, a quirky looking top-down battle racer, and a set of DLC for the sublime Sound Shapes.

PS Vita owners can grab the new Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed (digitally) for £35, and back over on the PS3 there’s a re-release of Batman: Arkham Asylum and the PS2 version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. UmJammer Lammy, the brilliant PS1 rhythm action game, is also there for download and will (obviously) work on PS3, PSP and PS Vita. Assassin’s Creed III fans can also look out for the Hidden Secrets Pack.

Remember there’s also a big sale that kicks off today, and Futurlab’s latest PS Mobile game Surge is also available – that’s there now.

Here’s the list of the big stuff, all the little bits and pieces can be found on the EU PS Blog.

  1. One thing also is that the 1.02 patch AC3 liberation has been released. The game is certainly a bit more stable than it has been.

Big Sky Infinity looks awesome, but all us Plus members have to wait until next week for getting free, darn.

    • Thanks for the reminder about Big Sky Infinity coming to PS+, otherwise i might have paid for it today!

      • It’s free today for plussers, I’m downloading it right now.

      • Great! :)

      • Sorry. Must have got the dates mixed up.

      • Or not so great … it’s done that thing where it only downloads the unlock code and now i can’t access the trial to download that and unlock it… bah..

      • Re-loaded store and got it to download this time.. phew.

  2. UmJammer Lammy! Used to love playing the demo for that (the one which came with the PS1 console).

  3. I am I right in thinking Big Sky Infinity is the same sort of thing as Really Big Sky?

  4. Maybe not the right place to post this, but Child of Eden is at Shopto for £3.85. I thought it was worth a gamble for that price and might mean my Move gets used for once. Seems to have favourable reviews. Anyone played it? Opinions?

    • In regards to the store update, just San Andreas for me this week I think.

    • Yes – at that price it’s an absolute bargain too! Go for it.

      • Cheers Dan! I think they were playing it on Peep Show the other night too, lol!

      • Nice one tactical20. Watched that pushed wondering what game that was! Shame my move controller died from lack of use.

      • Have you bought Eden yet tactical20? If not, I’ll second the recommendation, it’s very pretty and a good challenge, if you played Rez then you’ll love it. Oh and its best played very loud!

      • Yeah, bagged! Got a 52″ Samsung and surround sound in the front room, so should be good on that.

      • Should have said peep show not what pushed haha

  5. San Andreas defo for me, it’s cheaper than buying a new controller for my ps2

  6. I hope the Sound Shapes and Rage DLCs are out this week!

    • Sound Shapes definitely is:

      8 bit sound pack
      Acoustic sound pack
      Drum kits sound pack
      Curved terrain pack

    • Also, WTF – I bought that Uncharted game on Vita and this week (on release day) and they bring out a “complete edition” which includes the DLC packs, at a reduced cost, just ONE week later. Hardly fair to your fan-base who bought it on release – fucking arseholes. I fucking hate where this industry is going, micro transactions, screwing fans etc – bloody complete editions a week later, seriously.

      • Oops, I meant I bought the game last week on release day.

        Oh, and rant over!

      • Off the Xmas card list then. It is a bit Naughty of them though. *looks for coat* :P

Tried the new online store earlier and it seems a thousand times better than the XMB store, with better layout, better loading screens and easy to navigate around with minimal clicks. ;)

  7. Today is the day the Spyro trilogy comes out for PS3 and Vita.

Easily the best release of the last few months in my mind.

    • I’m just glad it’ll shut up so many wingers on the EU blog

    • In fact, it’s not only Spyro from PS1 Classics.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night as well.

GTA is only the fifth best classic being released today.

  8. Any demo for Sonic Racers on Vita?

  9. On my ps3 now and theres tow game downloads for big sky infinity!one has red cover and says 665.4mb and other is blue cover and says 314.9mb!both say free for ps+ too!which one is the right one?

    • One’s for the Vita.

Check the descriptions, there’s surely something marking the PS3 one from the Vita version.

      • No both say ps3!worked out what it is though!smaller file is ps3 version, whereas the larger is ps3 and vita version together!gives you the option to only download ps3 one after clicking download!

There’s a vita download same size as 2 combined too, should be pointed out both versions 300mb + each!

  10. Bloody hell…. Am I really seeing PLAYSTATION classics such as Spyro and Castlevania (£7.99 btw but ARGH… IT IS CASTLEVANIA…. must resist)
