We’re in the midst of yet another heatwave, and although we’re thankfully not seeing the record-setting temperatures we experienced last time, it’s still been a rather hot and unpleasant week. Naturally, that means things are a little quieter than usual, but with Gamescom just around the corner there are signs that the industry is picking up, so let’s dive into this week’s round up!

Turning our attention to the previews, Dom was impressed by Exoprimal, a blend “of Anthem-style mech suits, some Left for Dead swarm shenanigans, and of course there’s a hint of Dino Crisis” from Capcom.
Jim meanwhile looked at DioField Chronicle, yet another JRPG from Square Enix, however this may deserve your attention thanks to its Total War-esque real time mechanics. He also celebrated Fighting Fantasy’s 40th anniversary by speaking to creators Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson ahead of their two new gamebooks coming out in September.
Rounding off the week, What We Played featured Exoprimal, Digimon Survive & Cult of the Lamb.

We just had one of you popping in to share what they’ve been playing this week, presumably because everyone else is just too hot to think about anything else.
- willbuchanan nabbed the online trophies in Assassin’s Creed Unity and Revelations, so it’s just Brotherhood to do before the servers are switched off. Other than that, he’s now about half way through The LEGO Movie on Vita.
