2.36 Up Now, 2.40 Soon

As we exclusively reported earlier in the week, PS3 Firmware 2.36 is now available for download. In addition, the Official Blog has confirmed what we’ve all known for ages, that “the 2.40 system software update for PS3 will include XMB access in-game. The update will also include trophies, an exciting new feature that we’ll be providing more details on soon, as well as some other new enhancements.“

As far as what 2.36 actually does, officially it’s increased stability on a few PS3 titles, but we’ve noticed that the PS3 as a whole seems to run a little quieter, as if it was using less of the noisy fan. In addition, the Internet Browser now remembers which pages you were on (if you had multiple windows open) if you quit out of it back to the XMB. As ever, stick with TSA and you’ll know what’s coming…
