It’s NPD time again, and keeping to the theme set by Gears of War 2’s brutal savaging of SackBoy, the 360 is having a laugh at the PS3’s expense. Not only is the hardware shifting nearly double the units, but Fable II is riding high in the software chart.
Here’re the stats for October.

Yeah but thats wher the ? after october was for and the extra info about Europe..
I thought it was also delayed in USA for the same reason as in Europe?
So I love google and found:
“We will begin shipping LittleBigPlanet to retail in North America the week of October 27th. Sorry for the delay, and rest assured, we are doing everything we can to get LittleBigPlanet to you as soon as possible.”
So 215K in 4 days is not so bad!

215k in 4 days in one territory is pretty good I think. Especially when it had so much in the weeks surrounding it to compete with.

Xbox 360 has outsold PS3 2:1
This trend has been repeated more time than is funny, it’s like Sony don’t even want to turn the corner
Why do we want to keep helping someone who won’t even help themselves.

i’m not trying to help anyone, just enjoying the ps3…. games and media playing. best home entertainment machine i’ve ever had…
why do people stress about sales figures? it’s clear now that the ps3 isn’t going to disappear and leave us stranded with unsupported hardware

If it wasn’t for the Blu-ray, LBP and Hot Shots Golf… I feel like a sucker for buying into this system. I really like my PS3, but I already own a 360 and that’s were 90% of my gaming time is spent. Oh Sony, how you’ve fallen…

Well apart from the fact that saying “if it wasn’t for blu-ray” is like saying if it was for the wii-mote for the wii or xbox live for the 360, it’s one of the major parts of it, if not the major part. Also what about MGS4, Res 2, Motorstorm 2, wipeout and all the other wonders that the PS3 beholds.

I tried editing my last post on my iPhone but the edit button doesn’t seem to be working properly. I just wanted to add the fact that I probably spend more time gaming on my iPhone than my PS3…

Well, I don’t care who else is buying one, I’ve got one and it’s lovely.
I will care tomorrow but for this evening it’s a PS3 love-in for me and I will not be distracted from my boundless optimism.

Screw you Cb
You and your Friday optimism.
I love my PS3, I’ve just watched another BluRay movie, then the Mrs went to bed and I’m getting stuck into creating another crap level on LBP
Where else can I do that?
No fecking where except on my PS3, thank you Sony. And Ha to anyone who hasn’t got one. Your loss not mine
*edit* and yes I am drunk, going to have to leave the creating till tmrw

At least were still outselling Mr. PS2
November 14th, 2008 at 11:57 pm
Gah, what do I care? These are just numbers.
November 15th, 2008 at 12:14 am
let the 360 sell more..that means less immature community for us ;p
soli loves his black,shiny,sexy ps3.
November 15th, 2008 at 1:10 am
Anyone else notice Sony are last, last but one and last but two
All three bottom places belong to us! Yey, I mean boo
November 15th, 2008 at 1:46 am
Last euro figures i saw the ps3 killed the xbox and japanese figures were ridiculous for ps3 sales, who gives a shit what americans buy, besides there currencys like toilet roll now.
November 15th, 2008 at 8:04 am
I agree with a lot of you guys, sales may not be great but there is plenty for us to be confident that Sony won’t be pulling the plug any time soon. I love my PS3 and with the exception of Gears 2, there is nothing on the 360 that I wish I could play on my PS3 but can’t.
In a way I think there may be a silver lining here too as Sony might start taking some of the issues like Home, worldwide release dates and developer support a bit moe seriously
November 15th, 2008 at 8:55 am
I think the ps3 is great ! I’ve got 2 in my household .The main one I use for games and the other is mainly for bly ray films. I wanted a BDplayer and the ps3 was the best option because it is easier to get the latest FW.I also have the ability to store music and photos on it which I can’t on a “normal” BD player.
I agree with everybody that Sony should not just bury it’s head in the sand but it should advertise this fantastic piece of kit and make it more apealling to the masses.
November 15th, 2008 at 1:31 pm
The 360 base unit is cheap. It’s hardly rocket science why it’d be selling so many units.
Cheaply made too, i’d imagine a large chunk of sales are people buying replacements.
Nothing to get up in arms about.
November 15th, 2008 at 5:09 pm
Well it still seems to me that Sony is content at this point with the numbers souly because they have 3 systems out there. As long as all 3 still sell around 150,000 - 200,000 the company is not doing so bad. That being said it probably would be wise to drop there price at some point soon. The 360 jumped in sales once they dropped there price twice. And if they can do that I am sure the PS3 will jump also.
All and all I really do not care like most of you said it does not look like Sony will be going anywhere regardless of what some fanboys might tell you. I am happy with my purchase.

You do mention a few more good games, I’ll eventually play them all. But the whole Blu-ray player thing, c’mon! What does that have to do with the games? Kinda sounds like, “well at least we have blu-ray.” Too bad we have to count on the Blu-ray player as being the “major” part of this console and not it’s games, controllers or it’s online services. Which I feel are lacking compared to the competition is all.
