GDC: lots of programmers, artists & other general gaming types talking about code, optimisations and other such development related stuff, whilst I’m sure those presentations are all very interesting, I would much rather see footage of forthcoming games, so this time it’s the turn of PS3 exclusive inFamous.

Now, I did say my next post wouldn’t be a trailer, but what the hell… it is inFamous.

  1. Looks great,love the way he flys/glides

  2. After a slight distraction with Prototype, its back to infamous :D
    looks great

  3. Just watched this trailer on my iPhone, looks good but a tad repetitve. Prototype is winning for me now.

    • I agree. They look too similar for me to consider both and at the moment, the sheer balls to wall violence of Prototype swings it

  4. Nope, still runs like he’s shit himself lobbing (now it’s red?) electric at generic bad guys.

It’s looking about a hundred times better than all the trailers that went up on the US store a couple of weeks ago but it still looks a bit weak to me. Still, if they keep up this rate of improvement it will be worth a look.

    • i think if u have good karma ur leccy is blue and red if you’ve got bad karma. kinda like star wars !

  5. It’s going to be a great game; can’t wait untill it comes out!

  6. I saw this earlier and I have one thing to say, at the end, why does it take him so long to destroy the second bus? I mean, he already knows HOW to destroy them from the previous bus(thing)…noob, hahaha

    • I know what you mean, the question I have is that the mission appears like you have to destroy several of those armoured buses during the mission and it seems a tad repetitive, I mean once you’ve destroyed one you’ve destroyed them all… surely.

      • Exactly, and it doesn’t look too straining;

Get up high, glide over the bus, slam onto it, then take out something at the back with one leccy bolt.

Hopefully the missions will get more challenging.

  7. Love the hovering power and that step move he did in midair? This game is looking awesome.

Aslong as he can run it’s ok is it not cb? ;)

  8. Is the trailer actually up there? I can’t see it…

  9. Looks stunning. Shame about the b-movie voice acting and scripting for dummies.

“Maybe I need to get closer!”

    Yeah, thanks for that.

    • Yeah dumb wasn’t it.

      • It’s all a bit ‘Spiderman cartoon’ with the self commentary (or a bit Michael according to the podcast)

  10. I stoppped watching this after about a minute or so. It was highly repetative, and the action seemed unbelievably disjointed. There were explosions left right and centre even though I couldn’t really tell where he had thrown the electricity. You know when you play GTA for the sake of going crazy every now and then, like whacking on inifite RPG ammo and just constanly firing wildly? Well this looks like a whole game of that…and to me that’s not much of a game. I’m plumping for Prototype at the minute.

    • Is it (PROTOTYPE) fun Vs (inFamous) repetitive slog? not my opinion yet, but the more I see that’s the way I’m leaning after all the trailers so far.

      • Yeah, I think that’s what I’m saying. I mean this trailer looks identical to the one where he’s running through the tunnel blowing up buses and car as he “scatter-gun” fires everything. Hopefully though this is just an early mission. I mean, in this trailer there’s a dude on the roof with him, just shooting and shooting him, and I can’t see any sign of it doing damage to the main character. Looks freakin easy tbh.

  11. Is it me or does the main character sound like Snake for MGS?

  12. I don’t want to play as a gravelly stereotype who says “Yeah. Eat it.” when he blows stuff up. Seems a bit bloody humourless to me. Either give me an Isaac who doesn’t say anything at all or somebody with a sense of fun like Niko or Nathan Drake. I’m enough of a dickhead in real life – why would I want to spend my leisure time pretending to be another one?

  13. usually when game developers do demos they have a “god mode” cheat thing in. So i’d assume this was the case. But I’m always wrong, so I probably am now aswell.
