I can’t think of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 without recalling Tuffcub’s ‘Modem Wafer’ spelling once in a post. I’m assuming it’s humour, not a bizarre collection of typos, but even when I went to play it the other night I thought “Ooh, let’s have a game of Modem Wafer”. Odd. Anyway, the shitty Javelin glitch is now patched up on PlayStation 3, with an Xbox 360 version to follow – the patch is about 15MB, fixes an issue with the care package and stops players walking through walls. It also provides a lovely bowl of ice cream.

Great stuff, just in time too because taht javelin glitch was just about getting out to the masses. I had never heard of it until last week when I think it was bilbo_bobbins mentioned it and since then I have had about 5 people do it to me, it was starting to wind me up.

I was in a game yesterday and half of the opposite team were all abusing the Javelin glitch, between them and the cock suckers using ‘akimbo’ it was a total farce.
Now all we need is a patch so the people using akimbo will explode every time they try and run or maybe they could get a shock through there controler.

  What’s wrong with akimbo? It is a way of using weapons that has to be earned, which surely makes it fair. Using glitches is unfair for the opposite reason.

    But it is a balance thing. If you’re in a tight map (or a building) and run into a guy with shotguns akimbo then you’re going to need some luck. If you’re outside and moving then the slow rate of fire, lack of accuracy and range of it means that with a you stand a pretty good chance.

    With the secondary weapons you get two of them (one in each hand). The advantage of that is that you have two guns, not one. The disadvantage is that you can’t aim. (and LOL @ Tuffcub. That’s pretty much how I play, because I seem to get f***d by everyone else in the game)

    Oh right. So 2 x hand pistols (as oppose to 2 x automatic rifles). That doesn’t seem so bad.

    Pretty much. I mean you can get 2x machine pistols or shotguns which are a bit more powerful, but not 2 x SCAR, one with heartbeat sensor and one with thermal scope. You need two hands to hold those, see?

    Not just secondaries, but all sub machine guns as well. This includes the MP5K, UMP45, Vector, P90 & Mini-Uzi. (I read those all from the game of course.)

While I really do love playing this game, there are still niggley annoyances with it.

You can deflect Predator missiles with a Riot Shield, Akimbo Model 1887′s take any skill out of pretty much all close, to mid range combat and some Sniper’s are no longer one shot kill :/

The ‘care package issue’ that’s fixed, did they say exactly what it is? I know of one issue, but I wouldn’t use it. I also don’t want to say what it is just in case it’s not fixed…then more people will start using it (am I making sense?)

  lol, that tickled me.
  It seems playable now but since these glitches and the over using of dual shotguns has come about there are more A-Holes online than there are on xbox live and xbox live has a lot of A-Holes!

i tend to agree, to me it doesn’t feel nearly as balanced as the first game but love all the extra content for online.
