According to G4TV, the ‘sacked’ pair of high ranking Infinity Ward employees, Jason West and Vince Zampella, have officially filed a lawsuit against Activision, according to a press release issued by their firm of lawyers, O’Melveny & Myers LLP.
According to the press release, the aforementioned CTO and President were let go by Activision “weeks” before receiving due royalties for their latest game: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
“We were shocked by Activision’s decision to terminate our contract,” said West. “We poured our heart and soul into that company, building not only a world class development studio, but assembling a team we’ve been proud to work with for nearly a decade.”
It appears from the lawsuit that West and Zampella are looking for the right to create Modern Warfare branded titles outside of Activision – either that or they want to stop Activision creating games under that moniker.
