During last night’s Engadet show a PlayStation Move live demo revealed just how advanced Sony’s motion technology is and at the same time removed the distinction that the device is just a clone of the Wii’s motion capabilities.
The demo in question was centered around showing just how the Move can manipulated objects and menus, allowing you to bend them and place them anywhere on the screen. It was all very Minority Report like and had the audience very impressed, in fact we are willing to bet than any skeptics watching were probably converted with this one video.
Unfortunately the video of the show is unavailable at the moment, however we expect the recorded live version of the show to be available later, in the meantime though we have grabbed this YouTube video showing exactly what we are describing.

Hugely impressive stuff but they are moving around an awful lot and have a great deal of room in which to operate.
My main concern (despite looking like pretty astonishing technology) is how can developers implement this kind of thing into games (looks awesome for web-browsing) without producing masses of shovelware?

Yeah it looks very similar to the Natal in some respects, I’m just wondering if there will be much between the two the more I see it.

I think, like he said, using it like a mouse in an FPS would be awesome

Yeah, but then you couldn’t face the TV and shoot what’s behind you.

WOW! I liked the idea when I heard about it, but this is FAR better than I thought it would be. Natal has to come really good to beat this one. Great job SONY.

Wow that’s brilliant! Things like browsing the web, looking at photos and scrolling the XMB would be awesome like this. Then on top of that all of the games using it too! I’m very impressed by what I’ve seen so far.
