FirstPlay 007 Free minis

FirstPlay have just let us know that the free minis title this week will be Echoes. One of the better minis games which Alex gave a score of 7/10 in one of his minis round-ups.  He described it as “a unique PSP mini for anyone looking for something a little bit different” with the game quickly becoming “a test of both dexterity and memory before ultimately being more about forward planning”.

Other content that will appear in this week’s episode is a preview of Red Dead Redemption with promises of a “very special review” of the game in a future episode, which is odd and somewhat disappointing as the game is released this week.

Reviews we are getting this week are for UFC 2010 Undisputed and Skate 3.  There will also be a screenshot gallery of Test Drive Unlimited 2 with the network highlights section including “the best PSN shooters, a round-up of the comics store and a count-down of your best Just Cause 2 destruction videos”.

Echoes is one of the better minis, one I bought myself so can personally vouch for, and is certainly worth 99p.  The next three episodes will also have different minis as featured downloads so hopefully they will be ones I do not already have.

Two questions for you all to think about, is this week’s FirstPlay worth it if you already have Echoes?  Do you think the fact that FirstPlay does sometimes have minis as featured downloads, essentially putting them on sale at 99p will harm the sale of minis as gamers wait to see if they will appear in FirstPlay?
