Duke Nukem Forever Is Complete

This feels so weird.  When Duke Nukem Forever was first announced I was still a teenager living at home, and here I am all these years later typing the words I never thought I would – Duke Nukem Forever is finished, with a release date set for 2011.  Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford has confirmed the news, saying that the title’s now being “polished.”

Speaking at PAX in Seattle tonight, Pitchford also confirmed that the title would be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Apparently some of the game’s more “questionable content” has yet to be approved by the ESRB age ratings “police”, which is why a video shown at PAX wasn’t streamed by 2K.

Hail to the king baby!

  1. Whatever happened to the PSP and DS games of Duke Nukem that were on show during E3 2009?

    • They’re fine. They’re in development still.

      • Mate, you’re being very aggressive, its not all about scoring points for knowing more than the next guy, chill out :)

HDs remake of the old games would be amazing released along side this, they put Commander Keen on Steam, Duke Nukem must be possible!

      • I don’t think bigal did anything wrong there. He was merely pointing out a bit of information.

      • Yip, mcphatty, maybe you should be the one to chill out. What’s wrong with telling people what you know?

      • Yeah, maybe you’re right, sorry bigal

  2. Excellet! I can’t wait for more classic quotes such as:
“It’s time to chew some gum and kick some ass…and I’m all outta gum!”
“The last thing goin through your mind when you die, will be my size 13 boot”
and of course the legendary –
“Those aliens bastards are gonna pay for shooting up my ride”

    • It was a major watershed moment for me in gaming when you tell the second major boss of the game, “I’m gonna rip off your head and sh*t down your neck.” and actually do it.

Some of my friends best LAN parties in the day involved Duke Nukem deathmatchs. Shrink rays, freeze rays and loads of explosives gave it a different feel to Quake/Unreal.

  3. It’s my way or… Hell, it’s my way!

    Can’t wait!
