GameInformer has been showing off some new screens of BioShock Infinite – and they are looking good already.   The images show a brief glimpse of the outdoor environments of Columbia – and I for one am loving the change from the underwater city of Rapture, which I always felt was too oppressive (yes I know that was the point).

As always there is bad news – with the game not due for release until 2012, all we have are these pictures to sit and gawp at.  Out of interest, does anyone else think ‘Fable’ when looking at the shots?

  1. Skyoshock? Pass!

  2. “My, what big hands you have!”

    Why, thanks for noticing!

    The screens do look alluring!

  3. So here goes the long teasing and wanting of this game

    • a really long time to wait, but the screens do look incredible

      • I’m looking forward (a long way forward!) to the TSA meets on here if theres still multiplayer :D

      • You’re not the only one yogdog!

  4. This looks stunning!

    • agreed! I’ve got doubts about the setting but can’t argue there :)

      • What doubts, either way people would moan if it was set underwater again and rehashing the old gameplay or set elsewhere. Change is as good as a rest

      • I for one am glad to see a change from the underwater settings of the previous two games. I mean it was nice and everything, but something new and drastic was required to keep the game engaging and refreshing. Roll on 2012! :-)

      • I have doubts about the storyline, how the hell are they going to explain the new setting?

  5. Got bored of bioshock – especially the 2nd but really looking forward to this refresh

  6. the last picture reminded me of uncharted 2 somehow

    • how? maybe the flags over the streets but how?

  7. It’s Big Uncle Sam!

  8. Fable can only ever hope to look like that but I can see the similar styling… a bit.

    • I enjoyed fable 2, good game, but not a classic like a lot of xbox fanboys make out.
I’m looking forward to the 3rd iteration though. Same with this :)

  9. Absolutely loving the look of this. I liked Bioshock’s look as well, and the setting in general, but could never really get into the games. I’m hoping this will different and so far everything looks great.

  10. Wow, that looks like a big big departure. Not much deco on show.
