We’re hopefully going to weigh in with our own hands-on with Crytek’s Xbox 360 version of Crysis 2 soon, but in the meantime here’s some off-screen footage of the console iteration taken from the Eurogamer Expo.

We’ll leave you to make up your own minds about the video, we think it looks fine but it’s clearly a step or two from the PC version – still, with the game not out until March there’s hope that Crysis 2 will be stunning whatever the format.

We’ve still not seen anything of the PS3 version.

  2. My bro has a PC he has spent 5K on and he has Crysis and Crysis Warhead [think those names are right] and they are an absolute joke.

    Stunning visuals and stunning environments….

Looking forward to getting this for my PS3

    • I think the joke is spending 5k on a PC unless he has good reason to with work-related stuff. ;-)

      • you can get an extreme gaming PC for under a grand if you biuld it yourself.

      • what?!?! has he been upgrading the same PC since 1989? How the hell do you spend 5 grand on a computer?

  3. While both console versions will be quite a way behind the PC version, I can say with certainty that it wont look anywhere near as good on my PC as I haven’t upgraded it in four years.. Given the choice of spending a good few hundred pounds getting my PC up to spec or just buying the 360/PS3 version, I know which one I’m going to go with.. I made the same decision with Mafia II and it looked just fine on my 360.

    • This is why I like consoles, although you may be able to achieve better graphics on a PC, you need to upgrade your hardware everytime a great new game comes out to be able to play it at any sort of decent level of detail while keeping your fps up,.

Buy a console and through its lifetime, you should never have to buy any ‘upgrades’ in order to be able to play a game at its best possible visual state

  4. Looking good fun. I thought it was standard for PC games to be graphically superior as they are more powerful machines?

    • Exactly right. I don’t believe that graphics maketh the game so if a game is fun to play, I’ll be happy with the ‘inferior’ console version, especially since the differences are no where near the relative cost of keeping a gaming PC up to date.

  5. Played this at Eurogamer and it was unfortunately pretty buggy. Slightly off topic, but Medal of Honor was excellent and became a “must buy” after playing 16 player multiplayer yesterday

  8. its the sandbox editor that excites me the most about this game, but i dont think its officially been anounced yet, but if it has 1 IDK about the single player. and I think the graphics are great

  9. Crytec have said that Crysis 2 performs better on the PS3 than it does on the 360 – http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=242728
