Quite a week in the world of gaming, on Monday there was the midnight launch for the behemoth that is Call Of Duty: Black Ops, this was followed up by another midnight launch for Microsoft’s motion sensor, Kinect.     • You must live on a different planet to everyone else

      The updates have been amazing for weeks

      • I cant remember that…undead nightmare…haven’t even contemplated anything else in a month. some of the offers have been ok but nothing special. I agree with solid.

      • Ah, but what you have to remember is that whether it is good or not is relative to you & what you are interested in – Others might have found recent updates to be exceptionally good. In fairness, i haven’t found that much that i have wanted for a few weeks, but i have seen plenty that others would be interested in & there generally seems to have been a bit of something for everyone (well, not EVERYONE) most weeks.

      • suppose so. Ive seen better times though, like a few weeks in a row where noones complained. But yea its just relative to what games you personally own

        you’d be crazy to think the past month has been anything but awesome, its a run that is unrivalled in the PSN’s history… and still dimwits on the EU blog moan week in & week out, which is why I don’t understand the original comment I was replying to

    • Why are you blaming Sony? They put the demos up, it’s up to Activision, EA etc to create them in the first place. Where is the demo of Black Ops? Is that Sony’s fault it’s missing? No. In fact Sony have added free DLC for ModNation racers so you are in not just wrong, but very wrong indeed.

      • But it is regarding GT5, it’s gone gold, it’s up to Sony to sort out a date.

      • Modnation Racers stunt pack at last….only two weeks late but that is not Sony’s but UFG’s fault for being feckwits.

    • I presume you are taking the piss?

      • I blame Sony for things like PSone classics that the US store does have that we in the UK do not, I’m dying for some Tomb Raider 2 and Resident Evil action on my PSP!

      • But again PS1 classics are not the fault of Sony, this is not the UK store it is EU and so there are lots of licencing issues to take into account for a large number of countries, not just for the games but for voice actors and for the music in game.

      • I’m sorry but i don’t beleieve this, yes if a game was restricted to one region upn it’s original release then this is a problem but we are talking abotu international franchises that have seen released already in both territories, digital release should be no different!

      • Really been liking MUBI, there’s some superb material on there, being a bit of a film snob it’s right up my street. If the Lovefilm catalogue looks worthwhile I may kiss my DVD buying goodbye once and for all.

  6. Tempted to pick up the cheap(er) Assassin’s Creed DLC.
    Anyone know what the “Secret Locations” extra is, and is it worth getting?

    • It’s the bonus locations that came with the collector’s edition. Been quite a while since I played them so not sure on their worth…

    • Tempted as well. Just finished the main game.

    • My recommendation, if you have to choose, is skip the ‘Battle of Forli’ & get the “Sequence 13 – Bonfire of the Vanities & Secret Locations”.

      It’s the pricier one but it’s the longest & the secret locations are good, if you liked the tombs from the main game. I finished the ‘Battle of Forli’ at a point where I thought it was just starting and all it really takes is button-mashing.

      • ive done a wee bit of research and alot of people are saying that bonfire doesent make too much sense if you havent played the battle of forli, anyone have an opinion on this?

        im probably going to get both anyway for continuity reasons but, if battle is unenjoyable and unnecessary then i might give it a miss, also i couldnt fin any info on trophies, does anyone know if the dlc comes with trophies atall?

      • Nope, no trophies in the ‘missing’ memories for AC2. :(

      • Neither of the packs are actually ‘necessary’, as i played the game without, got the platinum & had a jolly good time with it – I would say only pick them up if you really want some more assassiny-type action & can’t wait for brotherhood! :)
