How many of you have got your money on a November 25th release for GT5? It is a Thursday so probably not many but that is the latest speculative date based on circumstantial evidence from Japan as reported by andriasang.
It seems that Logicool (the Japanese brand name for Logitech) were planning to release two wheels, the Driving Force GT and G27 alongside the less and less mythical GT5 on the old release date of 3rd November. When GT5 abruptly dropped off the release calendar so did the wheels. Now the release of the wheels has been rescheduled for the 25th.
Assuming Logicool’s/Logitech’s intention is still to release them day and date with GT5, which would be appropriate given the Driving Force GT prominently features the GT logo in the centre of the steering wheel, they may have just leaked the release date. Or perhaps like the rest of us they are just tired of waiting.
Is that close enough to the “on or about” 30th November that appeared on the SonyStyle site recently? Does anyone care about more speculation or are we all enjoying this more than we will the game? Will Alex be happier now that someone else has written a GT5 story?

Interestingly the Prima strategy guide in America is now due for release on the 23rd. A Tuesday, which is the day games are usually released in the US.

I saw that Prima guide, but I hope Piggyback releases the official guide as they did with GT3 and GT4. Unfortunately there’s no info regarding this on their web site.

I have my mind set on the 3rd December for release, so anything sooner is a bonus. It would be great to see the game released in November but I do have reservations, and I’m not going to get my hopes up.

Yeah, I’ve got it for that date in my mind too. Wouldn’t want it anytime sooner as it would be too close to the 1st anniversary of the death of my uncle, who I was very close to. Would be a very conflicting time for me. Been waiting so long for this game, but wouldn’t be in the right frame of mind to enjoy it. :(

I also decided on a December release so if it drops through my letterbox before then it certainly is a bonus.
I’m happy playing F1 2010 until it arrives.

Yep i have that date as the release to…. i kinda hope it is December now as i pre-ordered NFS:HP to tide me over, two great racing games within a week of each other will tip me over the edge and probably end my marriage!

Yeah it has been out for ages but I only got one a couple of months back. I hope the glowing horn button does something in GT5.

Squalje, your horn button will indeed work. I believe every car has the horn programmed.

I did think it was a bit random that the biggest button, which also glows AND has the GT logo, didn’t do anything in GT5p. I hope it not only works but also has some kind of effect in GT5. Would be great if it makes slower cars get out of your way or fires single shot nitrous or something.

I can’t wait to see the red multi-dial button on my DFGT wheel actually do something useful, and indeed the big horn button in the centre be of use. :)

The DFGT has been out in Japan since the launch of Prologue, the G27 has been out there for a year, must be some sort of re-release.

GT5’s big Madrid launch party has a new date of November 24th/25th. As you may recall, the launch party was first scheduled for October 26th/27th. Considering the party was to be held exactly one week before the game’s intended worldwide launch, a release during the week of November 29th – December 3rd is beginning to look extremely likely.
