The UK charts landscape is starting to change quite nicely now that we are heading into the period of madness that is Christmas.  Black Ops retains the top spot despite some fierce competition from AC: Brotherhood and the rather wonderful NFS: Hot Pursuit.

Kinect games, bar Kinect Sports, seem to have done a vanishing act, whereas Wii Sports Resort has leapt right back up to seventh.  It’s also good to see Sonic Colours make an appearance after last weeks dismal entry at 36.

This week sees the release of some driving game.  The name escapes me…man furismo jive?  It’ll never catch on…

  1. ah Man Furismo Jive, I’ve been looking forward to that for ages, need to dust my dance mat off this week in preparation.

  2. I find it amusing that the 18 month-old Wii Sports Resort is outselling both Move and Kinect games. I think Kinect should have focused on just one or two sports games at launch as potential sales will be spread across all the kinect sports games – people will probably only buy 1 or 2 of them at most. Mind you, Move only has a couple of sports games and that didn’t help either.
Hasn’t the xmas shopping started in earnest already? It’s difficult to see Kinect or Move making much of a dent in the Wii’s success now.

    • Trouble is though for every good, popular Wii game there are 100 poor games that sell about 5 copies.

    • Well you do get Wii sport resort with every wii so if it wouldn’t be bundle with the wii it would have sold worse.

      • Games bundled in the box with consoles don’t count as they are not scanned through the tills separately.

The Wii Sports resort sales are the copy bundled with the motion plus accessory as well as the solus copy of Sports Resort. Ninty have dominated the charts through bundling a popular accessory with a game for years now. You’d think Sony would learn and manipulate their own product range that way.

  3. Do people know Blops has appauling connectivity issues online? Haven’t played single player yet, so cant comment on that aspect of it, but i would assume upwards of 90% buy it for multiplayer.

I am tempted by AC:BH but there have been too many releases at the mo and previous AC games have initially been great but quickly become stale. Fingers crossed multiplayer is good on it, but strictly a Love film for me at mo.

Cant wait for man furismo jive (eternally delayed edition), will prob be last purchase before next year i think

    • Didn’t have much trouble with BLOPS online. Allthough I have read that the PC version is terrible online (the connectivity).

      • I am forever being kicked out of parties, dropping connections mid-game, thinking i am joining in a friends game only to find out i am in a completely different game.

Sometimes When i first log in it wont even let me select a game – i usually have to attempt to join a friend, that fails, and then i can start/join my own match.

MW2 for all its faults had a much better online experience IMO, i am sorry i traded it in for Blops

      • so am I deadwelsh. It’s so bad on mine, I can’t even accept or successfully send invites to my friends! Almost every game I play has lag too.

  4. Brotherhood only sold 63,000 copies less than Black Ops so it was pretty close when dealing with the numbers they were.

    • Also, AC:B and NfS:HP had only been officially on sale for 2 days…

    • If it’s any consolation I bought it this week, though I did buy it pre-owned so I guess I’m evil. It’s brilliant by the way I’m finding it great fun :)
