Wahlberg Is Drake (Again)

First Mark Wahlberg claims he is Drake, then Naughty Dog claim this is not so. Now Wahlberg claims once again he is Drake and will be joined by Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro. Speaking to cinema website ‘Moviehole’, Wahlberg was asked to clarify the situation.

“David O’Russell is writing right now and hopes to direct. It’s myself, Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro.”

The sad possibility is that Naughty Dog will have very little input on the movie and we will get Wahlberg as Drake, sitting round a table discussing his ‘issues’ with De Niro as Sully and occasional ‘comedy’ moments from Uncle Joe Pesci.

Sony, Naughty Dog and Director David K. Russell – I implore you stop this madness. We do not want Wahlberg, we do not want a ‘family dynamic’, we want Nathan Fillion making wisecracks as he leaps and bounds through an Inca temple with Claudia Black in impossibly tight jeans following closely behind.

    • All comments on this site suggest that so far. He does make sense though. The sort of care-free attitude and tendency to make light of impossible situations is pretty much every role Fillon has ever played.

      • I’ve said for a long time it should be Eddie Cibrian.

        Perfect fit.

      • The only thing I’ve seen him in was Invasion and he was excellent in that. He’s a TV actor though so probably not a popular choice. Also I remember him being pretty serious in Invasion…

      • He’s done a series of CSI Miami as well.

      • Cibrian was also in Sunset Beach if you want an example of him an even less serious role.

      • There’s a reason why they’re voice actors.

      • Emily Rose who does the voice of Elena has appeared in a a few high profile shows in the US like Two and half men and has been a regular on ER and currently Haven.

        Claudia Black has done plenty as well including Farscape and Stargate SG-1 as wellas the filme Pitch Black.

        Not all voice actors are only voice actors.

      • Yeah I was thinking mainly of Nolan North. I know Claudia Black has done a fair bit of TV work and I’ve seen on IMDB that Emily Rose also has.

        The thing is, they’re both TV actors and that doesn’t always translate to the big screen. The same with Fillon. I know he did Serenity but that’s his only major film role (I think). In that sense I can understand why they went for Marky Mark and the others, high profile and a lot of screen time under their belts.

      • that’s total tosh, you are thinking of radio DJ’s, not all voice actors are the son of the hunchback or the sister of grotbags.

        Nolan North and the rest of the cast all perform their roles just as good, if not better than any other Hollywood big named actor would, and they all look pretty good too (best being Emily Rose, though Elena is hard to top :) she’ll do)

        I just think it’s a bad idea not working alongside the company that has made it what it is, and the cast which make it even greater.

        my vote is Original Cast

    • I don’t want Nathan Fillion… The fanbase can cry his name as loud as it wants. If the script sucks – the movie is doomed. No matter who plays Drake.

  8. This is a disgrace towards the brilliant Uncharted-franchise, Naughty Dog and ofcourse also towards Nolan North, Emily Rose and all the other excellent voice actors. This will be a disaster.

    • Go and watch Firefly.

      • I picked up Firefly series cheap not really knowing much about it and it was a great show, nicely rounded off with the Serenity movie too.

      • I know who he is. I thought maybe there was some link between him and the series that I didn’t know about. Rather than him just being the most suitable candidate.
