The PSN maintenance that was meant to happen yesterday will be going ahead as of tonight. From 16:30 on Wednesday 1 June 2011 until 07:01 on Thursday 2 June 2011, UK time you will be unable to access the following services:
- PlayStation Store on PS3 and PSP (HA!).
- PlayStation Network Account Management.
- PlayStation Network Account Registration.
“In addition, you will not be able to sign in to PlayStation Network from eu.playstation.com. If you wish to play online during the maintenance, please ensure you sign in to PSN before 16:30 on Wednesday 1 June 2011.”

To be quite honest, I think 15 hours of downtime is more than worth it if it gets Sony to a secure platform from where they can relaunch their services. It isn’t Sony’s fault that hey got hacked, and I think they’re doing everything they can to bring it back up ASAP. We’ve just got to have a bit of patience.

We don’t know that, unless they’ve told us how the crackers gained access without me noticing. But I agree that complaining that they’re taking their time to do it right this time is not very bright. I’d rather have a secure system in a week or two than an insecure one today.

Can we not still play online during the maintenance?, every time theres been maintenance I’ve always been able to sign in and play online (and it’s always after the maintenance has started)

You sometimes can but it’s just down to luck really lol.
In the past maintenance I couldn’t sign in after work, but there were times it started 4pm and I got signed in at 6pm lol.
I could try sign in today but I think I’ll be getting the message saying “Maintenace in progress” something like that.

hopefully this will mean that the store will be back up tommorrow. I don’t really mind if it takes another month for the store to come back up as long as it is reinforced like a Vault.I was going to play LBP2 tonight and ask a few TSAers if they wanted to as well.:( oh well,guess i will play that excellent game known as Fallout New Vegas untill the maintance is back up.:D I just hope the rumours about another attack are false.

I understand the reasons but it doesn’t stop me being any less pissed off at this constant stream of maintenance.
Think I’d have preferred it to be off for an extra week than to have it up & down every 2 sodding minutes like it has been

It is usually set to avoid disruption… in the US. Just we get stuffed by the time zone differences.
