15Gametrailers has released three new gameplay videos of upcoming Sony exclusive FPS, Resistance 3. Apparently a private beta is currently underway too, with many positive mutterings being heard around sites such as Twitter.
Bring on the noise…and other such manly phrases.

It just looks a bit tame compared to Killzone 3. Not enough atmosphere or grand scale of chaos going on. Maybe that’s not the intention but it doesn’t look to be that exciting. Obviosuly playing it for real will tell.

Watched these last night and went out and got a new PS3 straight afterwards :$ Looks terrific. Love how the Auger is now a rapid fire weapon :D Really cannot wait for the beta next month and the full release in Sept. Hopefully Infamous2 can tide me over until this beta release :)

Can Not Wait. That looks absolutely brilliant. May even be a day one purchase which s something i didn’t think i would say about a Resistance game. Can someone explain what the differences in the health system in R1 and R2 as i never played R1 (though am tempted to pick it up cheap) and several people have said that R3 is using R1′s health system.

Judging by the footage I’ve seen, your health doesn’t simply replenish if you stay out of fire for a few seconds. Instead you have to find health kits dotted around the levels. Whether you can keep this in your inventory or not to use when you wish remains to be seen

Its odd. i loved resistance 1, when i bought R2, it was a pretty boring game, and looking at this i dont even think its worth the risk, the sounds are awful and it doesnt look graphically impressive either, there not bad, but not ‘Wow’. Might be a bargain bin pick up.

R2 definately caused a divide amongst gamers. Some loved the new direction but others hated the fact it had dropped a lot of the things that gave it a unique feel and it instead opted for a more ‘traditional’ feel (regenerating health, no weapon wheel, etc)… plus it ditched co-op campaign which sucked hard.
Resistance has a hell of a following however so it is the sort of series where you could pick up R3 several months later and still find a heaving online community, etc :)
