This week sees the release of Laughing Jackal’s great PS3 remix of Cubixx (review here) but thankfully SCEE are on the ball with regards to Gamescom and have piled on the videos of the best games out there – there’s literally loads of videos to watch.
You can also grab Dead Space, Dead Space 2 and Far Cry, if that’s your sort of thing, and the demo for Driver has appeared alongside a rack of Minis titles. Dead Space 2 is £48 though – you can probably get it cheaper by actually hiring a dev team and making it yourself…
Additionally, look out for some new Store tweaks: “the merchandising team have been hard at work recategorising the themes section to help you find the themes you’re looking for more easily,” say SCEE. “Also, as part of our on-going store improvements, the store iconography has been updated across the board.”

Glad you posted as I would have missed it. I glanced over the Driver demo thinking it was the one released last week. Cheers.

Lots of game videos to check out, poor pricing on Dead Space 2. recommend to get frontline, far better than MOH 2010

I’m in absolute disagreement with you there. Frontline is pants! That is the one that came free with MOH 2010 wasnt it? I loved the single player of 2010. Didnt want it to end.

Yeah it was. You can get it for about £15 now for both.

yeah it was the free one, I loved it! The 2010 one was far too short but the content of it was very enjoyable to play. Just there was something about frontline :P

At the time, when you first hit the beach & made your way up towards the bunkers, I thought it was epic.

Second play through with moh, not so good, but i’m sure anyone who bought it back in the day, will agree with the above.

Good to hear. In its day graphics & gameplay, were as good as it got for a console shooter.

Does anyone think Dead Space 1 & Far Cry 2 are worth €19.99? I’m sure you can get both cheaper online but €19.99 almost seems like a sensible price considering Dead Space 2 is £48/€60.

Farcry 2 went platinum i believe? Not really sure, anyway, yeah, you can get farcry 2 in most places for £5-10. Dead Space has been around that mark for the past few years now. I just hope some poor sod who doesnt know any better doesnt get mugged by them

Whether you can get it cheaper isn’t the same question.
They’re definitely worth it.

They arent worth £19.99 each now. £40 for two games that are a good 3-4 years old, when the disk based versions can be picked up (judging by some basic find-game.co.uk research)a tenner for both.

You’re talking value, not worth.
If you’d never seen Dead Space anywhere before, and you paid €20 and downloaded it and played it, would you think it was worth it? I’d say so.
But if you spoke to your friend in a week and find out he bought it for €15, he obviously got more value than you did.
But the game was still worth it.

I agree that they are certainly worth the asking price in terms of how good they are, but the fact remains that if you show me a digital copy at £19.99 or a boxed version at around £5-£10, i know which i would go for personally.
Fantastic games though, so i guess the question is just whether you want to pay that bit extra just to have it on the HDD instead of a disc really.
