PSN Store Update: 17/08/11

This week sees the release of Laughing Jackal’s great PS3 remix of Cubixx (review here) but thankfully SCEE are on the ball with regards to Gamescom and have piled on the videos of the best games out there – there’s literally loads of videos to watch.

You can also grab Dead Space, Dead Space 2 and Far Cry, if that’s your sort of thing, and the demo for Driver has appeared alongside a rack of Minis titles.  Dead Space 2 is £48 though – you can probably get it cheaper by actually hiring a dev team and making it yourself…

Additionally, look out for some new Store tweaks: “the merchandising team have been hard at work recategorising the themes section to help you find the themes you’re looking for more easily,” say SCEE.  “Also, as part of our on-going store improvements, the store iconography has been updated across the board.”

  1. DeadSpace 2 is a joke!
Well just Gamescom Videos for on tea time!

  2. “Dead Space 2 is £48 though – you can probably get it cheaper by actually hiring a dev team and making it yourself…”

Superb line. I laughed out loud in the office. Thankfully I was the only one here at the time.

  3. Cubixx HD and Kill Team for me.
Don’t think theres much else, want to re-buy Chime Super Deluxe though as that game is awesome.

  4. So many trailers! :D

  5. Not a lot for me this week, though I do like a good trailer! Driver will be interesting as well, I quite enjoyed the single player demo.

  6. Killteam and FF:TOD for me. Oh and what the heck, I may download some of the vids in order to watch them on the big screen. I may give my copy of DS2 a cuddle as well in appreciation for not hurting my wallet this much on release day.

  7. Was hoping for the bf3 trailer, shown here yesterday to be incl.

    • It was a PC trailer though- it’d probably bring out a load of bad press if they put it on PSN.

      • all the bf3 pc trailers are on ps3. and so far no bad press.

  8. “Dead Space 2 is £48 though – you can probably get it cheaper by actually hiring a dev team and making it yourself…”

    So true.

    C’mon EA, everyone loves you

  9. “E.D.F! E.D.F!”

Ahem, well it looks like I’ll be getting some EDF DLC, though I’m already tier 6 with the jet armour so it might be pretty pointless.

    • Considering getting the DLC too as I’ve not levelled up Battle or Jet very much. I’ve been concentrating on Trooper which I now have at Tier 8.

      • You must have a lot of patience, it takes forever

      • Yeah, it does take a fair amount of replaying levels to gain enough xp (i estimate it took me about 30 hours to max Trooper out), but killing bugs is damn good fun.
Buying all the guns is gonna be much worse, all 4 armours maxed out requires just under 3.2 million xp, all weapons requires over 8 million credits (and considering you get the same amount of credits as you do xp for completing levels, there’s a huge amount of grinding required).

      • Yeah, I love the game but there’s far too much going over old ground to get up to any respectable level. Either it needs more levels, or levelling up needs to be a lot faster.

  10. will definatly check out the driver multiplayer demo and then some trailers maybe… but that is alot of vids!!!
the motorstorm DLC is the thing for me!! =)
and if ur unsure about Dead Space… its totally worth 20 euro… u get alot of fun game for that price!!!
