We’ve seen a couple of really strong PSN Store updates recently and this week looks like another decent collection of content for you to buy, try and augment your existing games collection with.

Backbreaker: Vengeance launches just before Madden’s release and offers a more casual approach to the gridiron than EA’s monster franchise or even the original Backbreaker game.

Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition arrives, kicking off the releases for Sony’s PLAY promotion. We reviewed it earlier this week and as well as having the longest title in recent memory, it’s a cracking game for fighting fans. There’s a demo too, so you can at least give it a try.

There’s add-on content for Brink which adds customisation options including options to make your guy look like he’s in Fallout. Dragon Age II also gets another phase of DLC, with armour, weapons and items for Hawke.

Also up, is the Space Marines demo. This went live for Gold users on Xbox Live yesterday and has had nothing but positive feedback from what I’ve seen so it’s definitely worth the 1.25GB download, if your ISP allows.

Finally, Hamilton’s Great Adventure from FatShark brings adventure puzzling to the PSN with an “Indiana Jones” feel.

Seems like another strong update. So, what are you getting?

        Way overpriced!!!!

    • In Norway, people would sell their souls to get a game that dirt-cheap.

      • Agree the game looks amazing, however having played the demo on the 360 last night, I cancelled my pre-order within a few minutes. It just felt broken

      • Its cockney in the demo ;)

      • Sounds more Scouse to me. I have a deep Yorkshire accent and I can’t make ‘SPESS’ sound like ‘space’. :P

Or possibly Geordie, come to think of it.

      • Well whatever it is I find it hilariously out of place :D

      • Not sure about Geordie, that’d be more “Spairce Mu’reeen”.

  3. Nothing for me this week.

  4. Cars 2 is great fun but LOL at that price.

  5. If it gets rated on the store then yes.. It means someone has bought it. As of now 1199 people have bought digital version of infamous 2 for £50. I wish we could find a big newspaper, roll it up, and whack em on the nose so they learn not to do it again…

    • I’ll give you odds on that a lot of these purchases are done by people who share their account with 4 other people (such as myself actually lol). £50 / 5 = an awesome price for Infamous 2 :D

I take your point though, £50 is still insane given Infamous2 is about £20 in Blockbuster at the moment

      • So you can all install the game once on different PlayStations? Can you all play online at the same time? (does it have online?)

      • Only one of you can be logged into that profile at any given time but you can still log in as your account and use your friend’s content. As long as you don’t remove his/her profile from your console you can access all their previous downloads. Its pretty awesome and ideal for LAN parties, etc when you only need to buy a map pack, etc once :)

      • Yup, you can download it on 5 consoles through one account, then log into your own account and all play online against each other.

The only downside is, once you have your account of 5 machines, it’s an absolute ball-ache to change those 5 PS3s

      • I thought that had changed in the past. A few of us at work did it a while ago but not done it since.

      • I remember something changed in this regard but I’m not sure exactly what as my account is definately on 5 consoles at the moment and each seems to be working :)

  6. Space Marine demo is a lot of fun. Nothing amazing but definately enjoyable. Nothing for me this week, which can only be a good thing for my wallet ;) It’s all about Resi4 and Gears3 until October now really, though that Bloodrayne game looks quite enjoyable too

  7. PES 2012 demo! Yes please.
Might give NHL 2012 a try although I’ve hated every NHL game that hasn’t been on the megadrive.

  8. Two demos from sports I love, joy! :)

    • NFL and… being a space marine?

      • Of course. What else could I possibly be referring to? ;)

      • Now a NFL Space Marine Team and you really have a game on your hands.

      • I’d still only watch for the cheerleaders.

      • Or “play” with space cheerleaders?

  9. Everyone needs to buy Third Strike

    ^_^

    • Is it as brutal as SFIV? I bought that game because I loved the visual style and enjoy the occasional beat em up but it was wayyy too hard for a rookie like me >:D

      • I would say it is more strict than SFIV. You should have a go at the trial and see if you can get along with it. it helps if you have £150 to burn on an arcade stick, of course.

    • This.
at least get the trial and see what the fuss is about.

    • Didn’t notice there was a trial for it. I’ll definately give it a go this evening then. Thanks :)

  10. Been waiting for Hamilton’s Great Adventure as I don’t have a 64bit OS on my PC. Think I played crazy machines a long time ago on Steam but will give it another go. Had SF3 on DC ages ago and loved it but the standard controller was shite for it, maybe time to relive it.
