This week sees the special PlayStation 3 version of Hydrophobia released, which we reviewed on Monday here. It’s like a ‘director’s cut’ version, with Move support and a whole host of fixes over and above the previous 360 title. Read our review, and then – rejoice – it’s actually free for Plussers!
Elsewhere we’ve got demos for Disney Universe (review here) and the Saints Row: The Third Initiation Station. Payday: The Heist also lands in Europe so we’ll be looking forward to getting a look at that in the next few days.
Not a bad update this week, what are you looking forward to?

Can’t believe I’m saying this but I may download Hydrophobia given its low price. I originally downloaded it on 360 because it looked/sounded awesome but I ended up hating the visuals, voice acting and overall gun play. ‘Pure’ was better but I still wasn’t a fan but your ‘Prophacy’ review has got my interest again. Its the sort of game that I WANT to be good so hopefully Prophacy finally ticks all the boxes.

Am I the only one who bought all PLAY titles and now doesn’t have The Heist for free like it was supposed to?

We get sent a voucher apparently, I imagine via email. A comment on the blog explains they are in the process of sending them.

from what i’ve read on the blog, no, you’re definitely not.

Hmm not a bad update. I had hoped for a UC3 demo but considering that ND worked very hard just to get UC3 finished, tested and then published, that is more then ok. :)
I won’t be downloading DC online due to me having only 80GB and i have heard that there are 8 hours worth of patches. :O Will try the SR demo.
I am a bit surprised at the lack of a MW3 demo but knowing Acti, they will release it when sales of MW3 start to drop.

I’ve only got one patch? but yeah it downloads 14gb to the PS3 client if you make enough space by deleting old stuff then you should download, the beta was worth it…. very fun game, can’t wait to play.
Origami Killer
it says a 25GB download, can’t even spare that space on my 320gb :P

if you have the disc that will speed things up, A LOT.
though that might mean you need to have the disc in to play, i’ll find out after i finish playing i guess.
if you don’t have the disc you could always leave your ps3 downloading overnight, should be ready for you when you get up then.
considering it’s free to play now, it’s well worth clearing the space if you can.
hazelam
ok, if you install from the disc it’s much quicker, but you need to run the game from the disc, it still installs the game but you need the disc in the drive as it doesn’t put an icon on the xmb, and the game quits if you eject the disc.
i’ve decided to delete the install data and use the download version so i, hopefully, won’t need the disc, it should be about the same size anyway.
i’ll leave it downloading overnight while i’m sleeping.
i often leave my ps3 running the folding program so this won’t be unusual for me.
and i really need to watch the rest of season 8 of smallville, got it on bluray months ago but i’ve only watched three or four eps so far.
and i only watched those in the last week or two.

I can’t let it download overnight as my net is not on overnight and i’m not willing to leave it on overnight as i would not be happy if i woke up to see YLOD.
hazelam
i forgot how much fun DCU online was.
maybe now it’s free to play and i can take a more relaxed approach to playing it the endgame grind won’t bother me so much.
i can see me buying stuff through the in game store too, so long as it’s permanent, i’m not about to rent dlc.
also, why is it the first crash game is over four hunded meg but the sequels, apart from the racing one, are just over a hundred?
hey, it means i can fit them all on my memory stick so i’m cool with it. ^_^
gaffers101
I’ll get Hydrophobia as it’s free, but nothing else there for me this week.
hazelam
not a fan of the crash games?
Nylon_Crash
that Hydrophobia: Prophecy looks interesting, and its free with plus account, result :)
