Modern Warfare 3 dominating the charts is hardly surprising news. It has managed something that Gran Turismo 5 prevented Black Ops from doing though: three weeks at the top. During the game’s three weeks in prime position, it has held off challenges from the likes of Skyrim, Saints Row and Assassin’s Creed.
WWE12 and the latest Layton game are the highest new entries at sixth and seventh, respectively. EA’s FIFA 12 continues to chart strongly with Battlefield 3 also holding a very respectable position, given how long it has been available. The latest Zelda title, Skyward Sword, is dropping fast but should enjoy a relatively long tail, if previous Nintendo performances are any indicator.

Auch, Zelda on 19. Great to see Skyrim up high. I passed on CoD this time around. I’ve had my share.
Crazy_Del
Oooh Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is 2nd. Think Skyrim will take that spot after Christmas ;)
rossthebassist
its amazing how many 2nd hand copies of MW3 are in stores already. glad i passed on this at full price.
cc_star
It’s dearer 2nd hand than it was in the launch day offers even though those offers were much weaker than last year.

Are you kidding me? Rayman Origins is nowhere to be found in the top 40. Such a shame as it’s an exceptional game. I’ve enjoyed every second of it so far and coop is just ridiculous. The graphics, the gameplay, the controls, the sound, no install and very short loading times… everything is spot on and yet it managed to slip under the radar.
I’m looking forward to reading the TSA review.

Tbh thats the main reason why I didn’t buy it day of release. With all the big name titles about at the moment, this one was bound to fail and is likely to drop in price shortly. You’re right though, from what I’ve seen of it the game looks amazing
KeRaSh
All the big hitters are already behind us… I really hope sales pick up. The last thing I’d want is Ubisoft to think this was a waste of time and money. We need more games with a production value of Rayman and less buggy, huge install, long loading times, day one patch games with subpar graphics…

It’s not surprising that MW3 is at the top but it will be interesting to see if it can fend off Zumba 2.*shudders at the very mention of it*.
I honestly thought that Zelda would still be in the top 10. I think the lag has put a lot of people of Skyrim. It seems that Uncharted is now *puts on sunglasses* Uncharted in the charts. ;)

Nintendo are in serious trouble. No one I know is even moderately interested in the WiiU. We’re going to see what the PS4/Xbox720 is capable of in the coming months and I think most people will just pass on the WiiU and wait for the big dogs.
I think Nintendo make some of the best games out there. It’s sad to see that the company is going to really struggle going forward (IMHO).
KeRaSh
As long as Nintendo prices the Wii U right they are good to go. Just because your friends aren’t interested doesn’t mean Nintendo will struggle. I currently don’t see what Sony and MS could bring to the table other than 60 fps @1080p for every game plus 3D and all of this will be possible with the Wii U.
IAmJacksMedullaOblongata
I believe they’ll struggle because they’re now actively targeting the same crowd that are playing on PS3 and Xbox 360. That’s my whole point. They were so successful this gen because they were really smart at how they targeted the Wii at families and the growing casual market. That market is not interested in Wii HD or tablet controllers (once again, in my opinion).
The saying goes: never bet against Nintendo so I’m probably be proven wrong but I really don’t see why hardcore gamers would buy a WiiU. Even if it’s 60fps at 1080p (which, let’s face it, it should be, they’ve had 5 years) I can see more gamers just going “Wow! Zelda in HD! Awesome! Can’t wait for about 6 months time when the new Xbox comes out!”
Did we ever do a WiiU massive poll?
Question: Will you buy a WiiU?
Suggested options:
1) Day one. Nintendo make some of the best games ever.
2) Yes, within the first 6 months. I love me some Mario.
3) Maybe. I need to see what the launch titles are like. And things like price.
4) Unlikely. Maybe in the distant future when it’s half the launch price (years from launch.)
5) Very unlikely. Even if it was fairly cheap I’ll probably pass and wait for Microsoft/Sony’s next console instead.
6) No. Never. Not going to happen.
KeRaSh
I wouldn’t say that casual gamers aren’t interested in HD graphics. Zelda and the likes definitely will be the reason for semi or full hardcore gamers to be interested in the Wii U and there is nothing wrong with it. I bought a Wii for Zelda and Mario Galaxy. I sold it but there are still quite a few games that I’d like to play if I had a Wii but at the end of the day Nintendo still got a sale out of me and if the price and game lineup is right I might also get a Wii U.
I don’t think I’m their target audience. I’d say the Wii U is perfect for families with kids and gaming fathers who need the casual games to keep the small ones entertained and enjoy some quality gaming themselves or with the teens.
I’m not saying they will dominate the next console generation. I just think they have a very reasonable chance to do quite well if they play their cards right.
Sympozium
I don’t think many of the core gamers or er… ones that just buy the biggest release on those consoles would bother with the Wii, which is a shame for it as a great libary of gems.
Skyward Sword would maybe do well for a few weeks *shrugs*
Ugh! whos still buying WWE games?
Forrest_01
My friend for one is still buying WWE games – He can’t get enough of ’em!
Don’t think he bought any more than one copy though, so him buying it alone doesn’t really account for it’s position.

Will you be extending the chart list when Zumba falls below 19th place? We all love seeing it in the charts.
Grey_Ghost13
mmm, NFS The Run still charting then!
Crazy_Del
Do not get it. Multiplayer is broken! Campaign is 2hrs and Extrem difficulty is bloody hard!
Up to you though as these are my opnions lol. Trading it in ASAP (once I get the platinum only 1 trophy left)
cam the man
I was out off it after playing the demo, thought the car physics were crap.
mugsybalone
Wow, that’s a lot of sequels.
