Splinter Cell has gradually migrated away from the hard-as-nails stealth of the very first games. It’s not that stealth isn’t still a big feature, or that it’s not rewarded but in Conviction, it was a choice, rather than a necessity. The team is obviously mindful of the fans’ attachment to those early games though, with some obvious nods back to them in this trailer.
Splinter Cell Blacklist seems to follow that same formula from Conviction of requiring stealth, precision and all out action in equal measures to experience all of the delights that the game has to offer.
This new trailer offers plenty of new information, although the way its presented in the first half is a little disjointed. There are also some rather tasty looking action sequences. This is definitely my second most anticipated Ubisoft game at the moment…

I simply cannot wait! Been on my mind for a while now (possibly age) that games are starting to lack appeal due to same old same old just to make a quick quid!
This however, having watched dev interviews too, looks brilliant and off the back of Conviction there is little worry about this not being anything short of amazing.
The decision to publish on PS3 too is great news – everyone deserves to play the new “style” Splinter Cell without having to purchase a new console to do so!

The stealthy bits of Ghost Recon FS have put me in the mood for some Splinter Cell. Hopefully this new one delivers the goods
