Borderlands 2, predictably, hits the top spot this week. The return to Pandora has sold more than four times its predecessor, with 71 per cent of those sales coming on the Xbox 360. It’s the biggest launch of the year, beating Mass Effect 3′s opening weekend.
The other big new releases for the week, F1 2012 and PES 2013, manage to take the second and third places respectively, although their sales in comparison to their predecessors were perhaps not quite as strong as those of Borderlands 2.
LittleBigPlanet is in sixth place, which, considering that digital sales aren’t accounted, is good going for a Vita title. Hopefully we’ll see more sales on that device as Christmas nears.
Here’s the top 20:
- BORDERLANDS 2 – TAKE 2
- F1 2012 – CODEMASTERS
- PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER 2013 – KONAMI
- SLEEPING DOGS – SQUARE ENIX EUROPE
- LEGO BATMAN 2: DC SUPER HEROES – WARNER BROS. INTERACTIVE

Glad to see that LBP didn’t get buried.
At first I was a bit gutted it didn’t chart higher, although since it’s only on one console (that isn’t owned by lots of people) its actually done really well – especially as Sleeping Dogs has had the odd price drop. LBPV is a bloody marvellous game!
I’m guessing a certain footie game will be top next week – hopefully they’re working on a squad update to remove Terry from the England team.
This chart doesn’t count digital downloads either does it? I guess lots have downloaded it too. I have for a start.
Very true, especially since it was actually cheaper than a lot of shops and came with both DLCs!
With the amount of refunds they have had to give, its probably a good job that downloads aren’t included! :D
Eagerly awaiting the arrival of PES 2013, and hopefully should be downloading Borderlands 2 soon.
I’ll definitely be contributing towards the sales of vita games nearer xmas,”he says rubbing his hands together Mr miyagi style”.
Nice to see Sleeping Dogs is still doing well and in the top ten.
Suprised that Borderlands beat ME3, but then my entire friends list is people playing that at the moment.
PES in 3rd wow. I guess it will be the most traded game next weekend. How much did I used to love PES not anymore. Seen as though I couldn’t get online to work.
borderlands 2 is awesome, I never played something like it, the decision of what character class to choose was hard, went with the commando with turrets eventually, I’m interested in everybody’s choice, what was it?
I see Skyrim is still going strong it’s been nearly a year since it’s release date, probably 360/pc users keeping it going,it’d been a lot higher up* if they’d of released Dawngaurd on the PS3.
*Based on my scientific calculations. 8)
Good to see Dogs still doing well. Pretty surprised that LittleBigPlanet Vita has only debuted in 6th position though because the game is surely the best and most likely release to date after Uncharted to be a Vita shifter…..likely due to digital sales figures not being included though.
Had only read the chart titles before posting, so yep… agree with the articles view on LBPV and download sales.
