Retro City Rampage launched yesterday for the PS3 and PS Vita (outside of Europe, sadly), bringing more 80’s references in one game than the entire 80’s managed way back when. It’s quick fire fun, and riffs on pretty much every 8-bit console title of note.
It also features lots of guns and police, a combo that’s a little tricky to manage unless you’ve managed to discover some of the game’s cheats and tricks. Thankfully, they’re now starting to emerge, so here are some of the best code cheats for Retro City Rampage.

All Weapons:
Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, X, O
Remove Police:
Up, Up, Down, Down, RT, O, RT, O, X
Lots of Money:
Left, Right, Left, Right, Up, Up, Down, Down, RT, O
All Styles:
Left, Left, Right, Right, Up, Down, Up, Down, X, O
Unlock all Stages:
Triangle, Triangle, X, X, Triangle, Triangle, X, X, Triangle, Triangle, X, X, O, O
The cheats are for the PS3’s buttons, so you’ll need to translate for other consoles and the PC. Cheats also disable any trophies and leaderboard saving until you reset the game back to its default state, so be warned before you decide to use any!

When I saw the list I actually thought I would find prices next to the cheat description! :P
I wish more games brought back cheats. Sometimes cheats were the only reason I played though a game more than once. These days I sadly only replay a very small percentage of games and most of the time it’s for trophies.

Hope this is out sharpish in Europe. Feels like years have passed since I first heard of this title. I reckon it’ll look awesome on the Vita.
