UK Games Charts 04/02/13

A game with Familiars leads a pack of the familiar.

Good morning, chart fans! We’ve already seen that Ni No Kuni has hit the top spot this week, a notable achievement for a PlayStation 3 exclusive and even more so considering the stories we’re hearing about stock problems.

Elsewhere in the charts, the status quo is very much in effect. FIFA in second, Call of Duty in third and the big Q4 releases filling out the majority of places down the list. Skyrim is still riding high, after more than a year in the shops, and Sleeping Dogs pops up again with DLC for that title no doubt encouraging sales.

Apparently, Skyrim and DmC were separated by less than fifty sales in that battle for tenth position.

Here’s the top twenty:

  1. NI NO KUNI: WRATH OF THE WHITE WITCH – NAMCO BANDAI GAMES
  2. FIFA 13 – ELECTRONIC ARTS
  3. CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS II – ACTIVISION BLIZZARD
  4. FAR CRY 3 – UBISOFT
  5. HITMAN: HD TRILOGY – SQUARE ENIX EUROPE
  6. ASSASSIN’S CREED III – UBISOFT
  7. NEED FOR SPEED MOST WANTED – ELECTRONIC ARTS
  8. JUST DANCE 4 – UBISOFT
  9. HITMAN ABSOLUTION – SQUARE ENIX EUROPE
  10. THE ELDER SCROLLS V: SKYRIM – BETHESDA SOFTWORKS
  11. DMC – CAPCOM
  12. FOOTBALL MANAGER 2013 – SEGA
  13. HALO 4 – MICROSOFT
  14. FORZA HORIZON – MICROSOFT
  15. SKYLANDERS GIANTS – ACTIVISION BLIZZARD
  16. LEGO BATMAN 2: DC SUPER HEROES – WARNER BROS. INTERACTIVE
  17. LEGO THE LORD OF THE RINGS – WARNER BROS. INTERACTIVE
  18. SONIC & ALL STARS RACING TRANSFORMED – SEGA
  19. WWE ’13 – THQ
  20. SLEEPING DOGS – SQUARE ENIX EUROPE

It’s great to see a game that is so different from everything else that usually tops the charts do so well. The game really deserves the top spot.
Can we expect a TSA review?

Honestly did not expect Ni No Kuni to perform so well, let alone bag the top spot. Will defs be picking it up in the future :)

Nice one! You’ve got some good taste, UK!

I did not expect Ni No Kuni to perform so well either, especially as I thought it was only popular/known amongst the more hardcore gamers.

That’s a fantastic achievement – but then it’s a beautiful looking game, attached to one of the biggest animation studios in the world, and all of the reviews have been excellent as well! I can’t wait to get it!
