What a week it’s been for gamers! The PlayStation Meeting may not have revealed what the PS4 looks like, but we sure got a good look at what it can do. As you’d expect, TSA has been extremely busy this week, so let’s try to cover it all in this week’s Community Round Up.
The Meets are looking a tad quiet this week as I write this, but let’s begin with Motella’s Tekken Tag Team 2 Meet on Sunday at 7pm. Then there’s the usual Gran Turismo 5 meet on Monday night at 7pm, and lastly Motella returns with Dead or Alive 5 on Friday at 7pm, a consequence of the gaming becoming free via PS+.
That’s it right now, I’m sure the usual DiRT Showdown meets will make an appearance, and hopefully a few others during the week.
Whilst everything’s been dominated by That Announcement, this week Aran reviewed Urban Trial Freestyle for the PS3 and Vita. Teflon had a good look at the highly anticipated The Last of Us, got stuck into God of War: Ascension’s single player, and even found time to talk to Sky News. He’s a busy man that teflon. Lastly, Alex looked in depth at the recently announced Killzone: Shadow Fall.
As for Peter, he’s been having internet troubles and has been busy co-ordinating PS4 stuff. However, he did time to ask if you would pay for a better online service?
Following the PS4 announcement, TSAtv rebooted and went through the main points of the night. Greg also took some time out to reflect on the announcement with The Morning After The Night Before. Alex shared his thoughts on why Sony didn’t show the PS4, while guest writer (Bunimo)Mike declared “To Hell With The Cynicism, Let Us Have Our Passion” in a great piece about his excitement from the event. Last to chip in was Tef [He was probably busy appearing on Sky again - Kris], who had a crack at those criticising how Sony tackled the unveil as a whole.
On the community side of things, you can catch up with last week’s Chronicle which featured Lewis (aka PSYCHOBOY’s) rig, or see the WeView Verdict for Far Cry 3. Meanwhile, The Walking Dead becomes the next WeView game, so let us know what you think about it.
Episode 91 of the Podcast is live, as is the special PS4 Announcement Podcast. And finally, Greg has What We Played #93 for you to take a gander at. Remember, if you missed any of the news over the past week (it was easy to do so!) you can easily see what’s been going on with the handy Catch-Up page, or, if you just want all the PS4 news, then the PlayStation 4 tag is your friend.
Let’s take a look at the TSA Forums now:
- As you can expect, everyone’s talking about the PS4 in Airiaen’s thread.
- Spotter5 noticed a mysterious slot at the bottom of the DS4 controller, although it’s not that much of a mystery anymore.
- Steven questions the future of the Alien franchise in the wake of Aliens: Colonial Marines’ release.
- And lastly, Bunimomike asks which traits you hate most in a person?
And that’s it, what a week it’s been! I don’t think anyone here can say they’re not excited for the next-gen to arrive (well, maybe peoples’ wallets aren’t so happy!). I’ll see you next time, bye!
