New LittleBigPlanet Game Heading To PlayStation Vita?

In a recent interview with Pockett PlayStation France CEO, Philippe Cardon, told the site that “another” LittleBigPlanet title is due to launch on PlayStation Vita later this year.

When questioned about the handheld, Cardon said that both Soul Sacrifice and LittleBigPlanet would lead 2013 software sales for the platform. However, when asked whether he was referring to last year’s LittleBigPlanet Vita, Cardon stated that he was referring to a different game altogether.

Though it would be great to see another handheld addition to Sony’s creative franchise, a 2013 launch for LBPV2 seems unlikely.

With the previous game still subject to a perpetual barrage of downloadable content, our guess is that monsieur Cardon was either mistaken or perhaps referring to a Vita port of LittleBigPlanet Karting.

Alternatively, Sony could be prepping another spin-off for Sackboy and friends.

Thanks, VG247.

  1. LBP Karting for Vita would be great. Haven’t seen a problem with more LBP so far.

  2. I would buy it, I enjoyed LBP more on the vita than ps3. It’s perfect for vita

    • I was thinking maybe he meant to say Tearway instead of LBP, “Soul Sacrifice and LittleBigPlanet would lead 2013 software sales”

  3. I’d no doubt pick LBP up for the vita. Enjoyed the first, just need to go back to it.

  4. It’d have to be a bit better for me to bother. I loved the new mechanics, I loved the Cross controller levels with PS3 too. But the actual gameplay was fairly meh, more just the fact that only the last level actually had any difficulty as it was the only one with limited lives, everything else was just so easy it was boring. That and the fact that it took the entire game to introduce mechanics. On LBP2 it introduces the bounce pads and the grapple hook in the first world, in the vita one it takes bloody ages, and you only get the grabby hands after about 4 worlds. What the hell?

Add difficulty, add mechanics sooner. Then I’m in.

  5. If there was a game, it would most likely be lbp karting.

  6. I’m guessing he meant Karting (or another non-core LBP game), but surprised he didn’t use Tearaway as the example given their similar target markets. Also, ouch at Killzone.

  7. I hope not. What else can they do with LBP? Its all been done. Id leave it alone now. Maybe hes confused it with Tearaway?
