Velocity Ultra arrives for PlayStation Vita today. We love the guys at FuturLab and we’ve always thought that this game was a bit special, from its original minis incarnation right up to the early look we had at its entirely recreated Vita outing. This native Vita version adds new gameplay elements and utilises some of the Vita’s unique control options so it’s well worth a look.
Also expected to grace the handheld this week is Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery (review here). This puzzler from British developers, Lucid Games, is striking to look at, begins a series and it’s cheap as chips at just £1.59. It’s also coming to iOS, tomorrow as far as we know, but looking at it on that big gorgeous Vita screen is a temptation for those of us with the option of either platform.
There’s some ’80s and Dubstep DLC for Sound Shapes, which we’re really only highlighting here for two reasons: Sound Shapes is excellent and it gives us the chance to embed this trailer below.
Terraria is also set to finally make its appearance on the EU PSN. It’s been a fairly long and uncommunicative wait for European PSN users eager to see what PC and, more recently, XBLA users have been so keen about. That’s priced at £11.99 or €14.99 if you’re of a more continental (or Irish) persuasion. We’ll try to get a review done as soon as possible.
- Velocity Ultra [Vita]
- Terraria [PS3]
- Resident Evil Revelations Demo [PS3]
- Manhunt [PS3]
- Jacob Jones [Vita]
There’s also the usual raft of little DLC bits and pieces, including plenty of new colours, glasses and “navigation” items to buy for Persona 4 Arena.
We’ll update with anything else surprising or interesting as it’s announced. The entire list can be found on the EU PS Blog later today.

Stunned I have to pay £2 for terraria on PC at the moment and 11.99 just for the platform I want it on (Vita).
The Avenger
Though I forgot we have to wait for the Vita version.

I’ll probably get if off steam during the midweek sale. If I love it, I’ll get it for the Vita when it comes out.

Wohoo, been waiting for the Sounds Shapes DLCs for a while now – I really enjoy the Beat School stuff and it enables me to restore my 100%’s!
Just waiting on the LBPV DLCs now!
I shall also be picking up Velocity and Rayman on Vita!
Mr-Flame-Head

Is that a plug TC? ;)

Jacob Jones and Velocity for me. I’d like the 80s music for Sound Shapes, but I have zero interest in the dubstep part so I’ll give it a miss.

Oh, the Sound Shapes DLC is two separate packs, that changes things.

The store has been updated- I’m downloading Velocity, Jacob Jones and the Soundshapes DLC now!
Anyone else notice the Ratchet & Clank QForce section on the Vita store?
It’s empty at the moment unfortunately, but is it coming next week?
Forrest_01
I thought Q Force was a cross buy thingamajig?
colmshan1990
I think it is, but it hasn’t released for Vita yet.
bowie
I think that QForce has been in the Vita store like that for at least a few weeks now. It is so frustrating as I would really like to play it on my Vita. I have finished the campaign on the PS3 but haven’t gotten all the medals yet as I am saving that for the Vita.

Yet another blatant Palace bite on the Soundshapes DLC! Also, so funny what passes for dubstep these days. Nothing for me this week!

Actually, might get PS2 Manhunt for old time’s sake.

At last Terraria’s arrived on UK shores but bollocks it’s 12 quid.
And this is to please Tuffcub…….
Binky bonky boo, I smell of poo. :p

BTW, if anyone had issues getting the Poker Night 2 dynamic theme rewards, they are availabale on the store now. Strangely though, you can just download all four of them if you have bought the game – without seemingly having to ‘win’ them in-game..
