UK Charts 06/10/14: FIFA 15 Scores A Second Week At The Top

FIFA 15 defends the top spot in this week’s charts, despite a 70% drop in sales and strong attacking from Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor from Warner Bros. which charts in second position.

Shadow of Mordor has had biggest ever launch for a game based on The Lord of the Rings with sales of the PS4 version around 15% higher than the Xbox One version.

Forza Horizon 2 races in to third place with almost three quarters of the sales being attributed to the Xbox One version.

Apart from that it’s the usual mix of Minecraft, Disney, Call of Duty, Lego etc. This week sees the launch of Alien: Isolation so that may be a strong contender for next week’s number one.

  1. That’s a poor launch for Sherlock Holmes given it released on 5 formats.

  2. I bought Shadow Of Mordor, great game. To begin with it felt a bit basic but once the game get’s going, it introduces new and brilliant features at a rate of knots. Strongly recommend it to people.

  3. Shadow of mordor is one of those instant classics, it’s basically a better assassin creed, everything you want in AC but can’t get. It’s brilliant & I haven’t even scratched the story yet.

I thought alien isolation came out Friday same as shadow of mordor? It didn’t make top 40?

    • Alien is out Tuesday.

      • Cheers, think I will get it on xbone incase IT turns out to be like the other alien game

    • My local Sainbury was selling it at the weekend so I asked the very same question to the the TSA Staff. It’s officially out Tuesday.

      • Same here, my local game shop has been selling it Friday, most of my UK friends been playing it since Friday so assumed it came out Friday

  4. The sales gap between PS4 & X1 games is narrowing which is nice.

  5. Skate 3 is published by Xbox 360 Classics eh? Weird, sure I remember playing that on my PS3! ;)

On a more serious note though, why is EA not listed as the publisher for that one? Am I being a bit stupid?
