Tim Schafer has been announced as a guest speaker at this year’s Develop event in Brighton, the UK. An industry vet, Tim is the creative mind behind such games as Psychonauts, The Secret of Monkey Island and last year’s rocktastic Brütal Legend. He’s also the proud owner of one of the best quotes in gaming lore when, referring to the legal wrangles that ensued after Activision merged with Vivendi –  a merger that resulted in Brütal Legend being left out in the cold and eventually seeing a release through EA – Schafer said:
“Hey, if Activision liked it, then they should have put a ring on it. Oh great, now Beyonce is going to sue me too.”
With such comedy gems like that, Tim’s talk on game design is sure to be insightful. Develop is scheduled to take place between July 13th and 15th.
