Kinect Pricing Announced

Microsoft have just announced the pricing for Kinect here in the UK. There’s two bundles – a console, Kinect and Kinect Adventures for £249.99 and without the console for £129.99.

“Get all of your controller-free entertainment in one complete package,” says the press release. “This includes the all-new Xbox 360 4GB console, the revolutionary Kinect sensor and the Kinect Adventures game.  In Kinect Adventures, you’ll get to navigate roaring rapids and mountain-top obstacle courses, and experience numerous other adventures in exotic locations.”

More than 15 games will be available at launch – Kinect games, including Kinectimals, Kinect Sports and Kinect Joy Ride, will retail for £39.99.

“Kinect for Xbox 360 offers fantastic new ways to be entertained for the whole family,” said Chris Lewis, vice president, Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft Europe. “With full body, voice and multiplayer play straight out of the box, Kinect is a unique way for everyone to enjoy controller-free fun and entertainment.”

  1. 4gb what a joke.

  2. Am I the only person with Peter Kay’s ‘garlic bread’ voice in their head. ‘4GB?! Four?! FOUR?! GigaBYTES?!’

  3. Jeeez!

That price is definately gonna put a lot of people off but by the time the casuals see all the adverts and etc that will bombard us, it will become the Christmas present of 2010!

But 39.99 for Kinnectimals and Joy Ride? They look like mini-games! Even Sony have priced their Move games for £29.

Will be very interesting to see.

  4. “£129.99.” Kinect only or with a game??

  5. Oh dear…

Ridiculous price, no decent looking games, constant refusals to come clean about the specifics of the thing’s features, and now full retail price for the games? Including one they promised was going to be free when it was announced? How is this not taking the piss?

Seriously, charging that much for such extremely limited looking games is taking things way too far. Don’t games like what we’ve seen so far on Kinect only get charged at half price on the Wii when they come out? All the fitness games on there seem to hit shelves at under 20 quid, yet these same games are somehow worth double on Kinect? Why?

  6. if you pay that price you would need a lie down, but the worst thing is kinect would not see you…to be serious that is a really really high price to pay for what amounts to a camera for xbox360

  7. Wow, look at all those great !*HARDCORE*! games lined up for launch! ….. -_-

  8. 4GB. that wouldnt last me a week

  9. A FULL 4GB ! WoW ! I’d be able to save everything to that !

  10. Lol £130. It’s like echoes of DJ Hero.
