Atari has confirmed that open world racing game – Test Drive Unlimited 2 – has been delayed until “early 2011.” They had the following to say;
“The new release date will provide the developers with additional time to fully enhance the connected console multi-player experience.
To date, Test Drive Unlimited 2 has generated great media buzz and incredible excitement amongst gamers and fans of the franchise.
By moving the title’s release date to early 2011, we will be able to further advance the game and take into account consumer feedback to help ensure we deliver a great online lifestyle racing experience.”
The upcoming beta has also been pushed back to coincide with the new release date. Those already signed up will be rewarded with an exclusive in-game item. The beta will be split into several phases, and a new date will be confirmed in the next few weeks.
Whilst on the surface this sounds like bad news, we are glad the game is getting more time. We are also glad it is being shunted out of the way of Need for Speed and Gran Turismo 5.

That’s ok, I might be able to tear myself away from GT5 by then.
Who am I kidding, GT5 will slip way past this!

I really want this, played first one on 360, but it was suppose to be coming out same day as F1 2010 and I rather play that

This is one of many racing games coming out in the next 6-12 months that I’m really looking forward to. Probably no bad thing though for it to be delayed, as it avoids having to go up against GT5 and I’d rather the developers take their time and get the game right before releasing it.

Looking forward to this, glad it’s moved though.

Good. GT5 and need for speed are my racers of choice this year. F1 has been scratched off my list because of a lack of a demo. As TD2 has moved to next year it won’t clash with my 2 main racers.

another game that gets pushed back till early next year?
why am i getting a strange case of deja vu?
this isn’t another push it back to avoid cod fiasco is it? because we all know how that ended up last time, a stupidly crowded 1st quarter.
what’s next?

What’s next?
Everything that doesn’t have the words “Call, Duty, Halo, Gran or Turismo” in the title. nothing else stands a chance, except Just Dance 2 of course which will probably outsell the lot of them, maybe even added together.
