Resistance 3 Gets A Teaser Trailer

Insomniac Games have released the teaser trailer for Resistance 3 that was shown at the end of Sony’s Gamescom event this evening.

There’s a healthy dose of atmospheric music and landscape shots, and a wholly unhealthy dose of alien occupation. I won’t spoil any more for you, but a billboard featured in the trailer does seem to confirm that the series is indeed heading to New York for its latest entry. Enjoy.

Resistance 3 is expected sometime next year.

  1. is that the statue of liberty in the A of resistance?

    • Yes it is.

      • Is that the Big Ben in the I of resistance?
Title could be a tease as well; mixing the locations of R1 and R2 in it and not yet telling what the location will be for R3.

  2. First one = good at first, got boring very quickly
Second one = much better, but still felt like Baby’s First FPS
Third one = if we get to play as travelling hobos armed only with Bullseyes and baked beans, I’m sold :)

  3. ok that was the single coolest trailer i’ve ever seen

  4. Really cool trailer; I liked that a lot. I too get the feeling they’re going down the L4D route and making it a multiplayer-focused game, which would be cool. Either way, I enjoyed the second game a lot and am looking forward to this.

The one thing I would say that if it is set in NYC, they’re going to have to compete with Crysis 2, which is not an enviable position to be in.

  5. Impressive trailer, loved the first but not so much the second. Was still a good game though, i’m going to playthrough the second again prior to this so i’m ready for it!

  6. OMFG. Awesome :D

  7. Very cool!

  8. Blimey, that trailer is like the whole of Cloverfield!

  9. left 4 dead type game play with better graphics?

    “I’ll have one please”…

  10. Good trailer!! I enjoyed both the first two games, especially the first one as it had local co-op for the campaign mode, which was fun. I’m really looking forward to the third installment. :)
