Resistance 3 Gets A Teaser Trailer

Insomniac Games have released the teaser trailer for Resistance 3 that was shown at the end of Sony’s Gamescom event this evening.

There’s a healthy dose of atmospheric music and landscape shots, and a wholly unhealthy dose of alien occupation. I won’t spoil any more for you, but a billboard featured in the trailer does seem to confirm that the series is indeed heading to New York for its latest entry. Enjoy.

Resistance 3 is expected sometime next year.

    • My thoughts exactly, best teaser i’ve ever seen. If you’re not going to show gameplay which they never do, then don’t show just a load of cgi nonsense, this was really well thought out and made, just occasional glimpses of the madness in the outside world. Lovely.

      • Also agreed. What a perfect way to reveal the game. I hope its just as good as the last 2 and that one step up to make it the perfect way to end the trilogy (it is a trilogy right :)?)

    • But didn’t you play R2? I’d hate to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t played it, but that would explain why there isn’t a Hale look-a-like.

  7. I thought the 3rd should be set in russia where the chimera came from. though, i guess pleasing the yanks is top priority with an FPS and Sony.

      • I remember reading somewhere ages ago that resistance was going to be a trilogy. hope i’m wrong though.

      • actually at the end of the psp game the guy u are, it says he goes to Russia! maybe that’ll b resistance 4

      • Or another spin-off, like Retribution.

    • Well, the first was set in the UK. To be fair, I can only think of Resistance 2 that’s in the USA?

      • Resistance 2 was Iceland and USA and maybe Russia?

    • Yeah i wanted Russia where they first attacked

    • I’d point out that is is just a live action teaser. The actual game can still be set in Russia. All they did was show the general state that humanity was in, that is to say, dire. Doesn’t mean that the game is set in the US.

      • It’s in the states mate. Look at the ‘A’ in the title; you’ll see the Statue of Liberty in it.

      • And it looks like the Empire State Building in the I. But who says it can’t have a part in Russia? R2 was based all over the US.
        Maybe just the main part of the story is based in NYC.
