Community Round-Up

The newly formed TSA Community Team has been very busy recently organising competitions ranging from small time trial challenges to larger tournaments. There’s a lot going on right now and this handy round-up post will help you keep track of what we’re planning, as well as highlighting community organised TSA meets.

Warhawk might be getting on a bit now but that hasn’t stopped us organising a brand new competition for it! On the 13th of September at 8PM, 14 TSA members will fight tooth and nail across 3 game modes to earn the most kills, bagging themselves 250 TSA points and a £10 Amazon gift voucher in the process. So, think you still have the skills to win at this PS3 classic? You only have until midday on the 12th of September to get your entry it so do it now!

Our Time Trial Challenge series made a successful debut with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 recently and now in the second of hopefully many challenges, we are searching for the quickest Wipeout HD player.

The fastest member around the Anulpha Pass Reverse track in the Piranha racer will receive a £5 Amazon gift voucher and 100 TSA points. The deadline for entries is 11PM on Tuesday the 14th of September so there is still a few days left to shave off a few seconds off your best time.

ModNation Racers made its return to TSA this week as we announced the first round fixtures for our 1v1 knockout tournament. This is a reminder to all players that you have until 11PM on Wednesday the 15th of September to play and submit the results of your fixture. A MNR meet has also been organised for Sunday night at 6PM and is a great opportunity to practice before your match and improve your chances of winning the grand prize of a £20 PSN card.

If that isn’t enough then our community is always organising their own events using the TSA Meets tool. This weekend is looking extremely busy with 8 meets taking place. First up tomorrow night at 5PM is a Battlefield Bad Company 2 meet organised to help you earn some of these pesky online trophies.

Also at 5PM is a Wipeout HD meet which has come at a perfect time for those intending to enter our Time Trial Challenge. There is only space for 8 people so make sure you get your name down quickly.

Then at 7PM we have a Blur meet. I’ve been playing this on rental recently and it is a brilliantly fun racer which will only be improved with the addition of TSA members. Make sure you sign up for this one as it will be a very enjoyable meet. At 8PM we then make our first visit to DiRT 2 since our extremely successful tournament a few weeks back.

Speaking from past experience this is one of the most enjoyable meets to participate in, everyone tries to play fair and is there to have fun. I’m personally looking forward to another destruction derby once the serious races have been completed. Also at 8 there is a Buzz Quiz TV meet organised “for fun and help towards online trophies” by Charmed_Fanatic.

Sunday evening sees 3 meets take place including the ModNation Racers one mentioned above. At 7PM a Burnout Paradise meet takes places and is perfect for earning those last few online trophies. Then at 8PM TSA enters the Shadow War once again to assist Valor. This MAG meet is open to 16 players and we want to see a full house, get your name down and make it happen.

Well there’s your next week’s gaming organised for you. Don’t see anything you want to participate in? If you have 250 TSA points then you can set up your own community meets here. Just make sure you stick a post in our forums to get people signing up and talking about your meet.

Enjoy the week everyone, I know I will.

  2. To Rocket_345, I will be joining in Burnout on Sunday but from 8pm after I get back from work! If thats too late feel free to boot me from the list :)
Sorry to be a nob, I have nooo idea how to PM… if anyone can reply with an idiots guide that would be most excellent of them.

    • If you click the number by PM’s at the top of the page.
Then at the right hand side, there is an envelope that starts a new PM.
You can then type the person’s name in to PM and then the subject and message and send :)

      Hope this helps

    • I have no problem with that.

      • Thanks Fanatic much appreciated! Cheers Rocket, fingers crossed theres 8 of us I only need that trophy for the platinum!

  3. Great!

Busy – might have to have a blast at one of these?

Any chance of a Super Street Fighter 4 Tourney?

    Would be cool :-)

    • Especially next month when PS+ subscribers get it free

      • That would be the old SF (SSF2 HD Remix) game though. Granted we would probably have more members able to play on that with it due to being on PS+ but Super Street Fighter 4 is more fun :D

      • I thought I got mixed up as soon as I posted it. Thanks for the clear up

    • well im in if one happens, my skill level is of that which wastes peoples time or so im told in msgs i have recieved, but i enjoy having a laugh more than the blisters i can get from hammering the button

  4. Err, the MAG meet is being played as Valor, not Raven.

  5. if you join a meet, do you get a reminder because i tend to forget things?

    • No, don’t think so.

    • You get a reminder on the day of the meet. It tells you what meets you have signed up for today in your profile box on the main page.
