SEGA has announced that ‘Captain America: Super Soldier’ will be hitting the PS3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and DS in summer 2011.
The game is a third person action adventure set in the WWII period. Mixing “dynamic acrobatic platforming with a fast and fluid melee combat system” you will have to pit your skills against enemies such as Iron Cross, the Hydra Army and the Red Skull (boooo!).
The original story is being penned by noted comic, film, and TV writer Christos Gage – the primary writer for the Marvel’s Avengers: The Initiative series of comics.
Gary Knight – Senior Vice President of Marketing at SEGA Europe and SEGA America – had the following to say:
“Captain America: Super Soldier puts players in the boots of the ultimate Super Soldier, wielding Captain America’s legendary shield. Working closely with Marvel ensures we’re delivering the calibre of product that gamers and comic fans deserve and it’s a partnership we’re proud of here at SEGA.”

Thought Captain America was great when I was a kid. Heres hoping they keep an eye on Rocksteady’s work with Batman when considering quality….

Really keen on seeing how this turns out but I have to say, the Sega-published Iron Man games aren’t filling me with confidence for this one.
