French site ‘NoWhereElse’ is reporting it has received an invitation for a Sony event to be held on December 9th which clearly shows the famous PlayStation buttons alongside a telephone icon.
This was picked up by MobileCrunch and their ‘tipster’ has confirmed that he has been to an event to see the phone in action and it will be released around February.
Does that ring any bells? How about three days ago when Sony Ericsson Chief Executive Bert Nordberg said he was going to have a new product to show at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February. Kerching!
All rumours and speculation of course – the invitation does look something you could knock up in Photoshop in ten minutes – but as Bert said, ‘There’s a lot of smoke, and I tell you there must be a fire somewhere.’
File under ‘Smokey Rumours’ which coincidentally would be a great name for a country and western singer.

Looks like this has been planned for years. Psp go was surely a test bed precursor for the Psp phone. Funny thing though, go failed big time, so if it was a test, it failed, yet they go ahead with this anyway.

Either way it’s fail, the only test I could see the PSP Go perorming is whether or not no physical media is a good option, Go proved it isn’t yet they’re still taking this route. The PSP2 is gonna have to be something pretty special to convince me to buy it if thee is no physical media, otherwise I’d be more inclined to get a 3DS.
