TSA Moves Into US, Strengthens Community Features

Regular readers will know that we like to keep you informed of what’s going on with the staff of the site. With that in mind, this is just a short post to let you all know about the recent changes to staff and what we think it will mean for the site’s future.

Firstly, I don’t know if we ever introduced Jimmy or Josh when they joined the news team. For that matter, I’m not totally sure if we introduced Dan when he joined. It can’t hurt to say hello to those guys again anyway, right?

We now have another new member of the news team called Matt. He’s based in the land of the free and the home of the brave. Nope, not Runcorn, he’s in America where the streets are paved with… well, tarmac and concrete I think.

The new additions to the news team enable us to not only post more news more quickly but they give us another dimension. You’ll also notice that Matt is putting stories up in the middle of the night. That’s the middle of the night, UK time. For Matt it’s early evening because America lives a few hours in the past. It’s baffling.

We still keep our roster of regular contributors too so that we can cover as much review and feature content as possible. We’ve pared back on numbers so that the contributor’s list reflects those that regularly contribute but we always accept submissions as long as the standard is high enough quality and we think the subject will be interesting to our readership.

We’ve also added two of our Community Team members to the staff roster as both AG2297 and teflon become Community Coordinators with the same remit as Colin has had. Basically, they will be overseeing all of the TSA-approved community events and feeding back the information about them to you.

While we’re on that subject, there are exciting new community features on the way. Alex is currently in hardcore coding mode and when we’re a little closer to completion we’ll be talking a bit more about what we’re planning and how we hope the new tools will be put to good use.

So that’s where we are right now. We’re always on the look out for new talent to add to our team and we’re always open to applications (my email address is on the staff page), especially from quality news writers with expertise in and knowledge of the Xbox 360, Nintendo and PC/Mac platforms.

      • Ha, I still play everything. The problem with being an Xbox fan is that about 75% of the good games for 2011 are either PS3 exclusive or come with a little something extra on the PS3 (like Dead Space 2).

      • :) you know what i dont think your that bad at least you acknowledged that 2011 is gonna be a good year for us ps3 fans. although i wish microsoft would get off their ass and announce some games not these kinect mini game BS.

      • Just to clarify, I’m a fan of both. I even have more trophies than I do achievements.

  5. Welcome to the new guys (better late then never I suppose). I wonder what new features you guys are planning, hopefully an edit button for the main page.

  7. I feel all tingly and super powered now… I tried to see if I could fly earlier, but I just ended up with bruises down half my body.
Well, I’m sure I’ll figure it out sooner or later. Perhaps I can control fire?

    • I think it just made you even more annoying ;)

*Disclaimer – I like Teflon really*

      • Oh, /that’s/ my new power? Oh well, hopefully I can trade it in at Christmas or something.
